First, most of you have not been involved in a college program, so let me try and clarify for you the level of "disrespect" you keep citing.......minimal.

For the bulk of the players not involved in the fight but missing curfew, it was nothing more than getting a chance to blow off steam after working their asses off. That's it. It has happened on a large scale to every coach at LSU from Charlie to Les. Get over it. Don't blow it out of proportion!

You don't fricking suspend them, you run them and keep the matter in your own house. We called it Breakfast Club and it was fricking awful.

Again, this doesn't apply to those who were fighting, but the remaininge alleged 50 or so who were at the bar.

Keep it in perspective if you've never been on an organized college atheltic prgram.

I agree with this, the assaults are the issue, curfew is a minor thing. Felonious assault on the other hand is just terrible.

WTF are you talking about!

They broke CURFEW! They broke a rule. No responsible person has ever done such a thing. Les has lost control of this team!

The whole season's fricked!

The curfew issue isn't in itself a big deal. Sure its poor judgement for the leader of the team to be out breaking curfew 2 weeks before the season opener. Hey it happens these are young college guys wanting to have fun and chase some poon. But if everything went down like its being reported then JJ at the least should be permanently kicked off the team. Its one thing to get in a bar fight, its a whole different matter to kick a man in the head when he is already beaten down onto the ground.

Don't disagree, but what if some of these players violated other team rules in the past?

I'd say that would mean some kind of suspension like not starting, missing first quarter or half...something like that.

I look at it as a number of seniors lead a bunch of underclassmen out past 1030 curfew, thus breaking it and basically telling them that it's perfectly ok to do that.

A senior is supposed to be a leader. Period. They are the ones looked up to as the leaders that if they see something wrong, they correct it. A senior lsu football player is entrusted by the coaches to have a high maturity level, moreso that the underclassmen.

Another question is: how long has this been going on? The sneaking out after curfew thing.

Just some thoughts.

I agree that it's being blown out of proportion to a point. Sneaking out and breaking curfew by a few players is one thing. Half the team saying "frick it" and all going to a bar when they KNOW people will recognize them and it will probably get back to the coach is disrespecting the coaching staff big time IMO.

You're either 12 or 75. We broke curfew at OCS. If we'd been caught, we would have gotten the shite beaten out of us by the DIs, but that's about it.

These guys are fricking college football players. "Broke Curfew" for 19-24 year old guys (a 2230 curfew at that) sounds pretty trivial. I know it's a rule, but that's all it is. There is no cause for moral outrage.

And it calls for some pain. It doesn't need to be a fricking life changing event, however.

The punishment needs to be severe enough to make them change their fricking life! They need to be punished so that they never put themselves in that position again.

As a former coach, this is the purpose for having a curfew!! To prevent an incident like this.

Breaking curfew is far from a minimal level of disrespect. Do you have children? Let them sneak out of the house at 1:30 am and see how 'minimal' it feels.

FWIW - Alot of the baseball players regularly skipped curfew while in Omaha winning national titles under Skip. And they weren't out watching movies.

Are the children 19-24?

Is their curfew (at 19-24) on a non-practic night 2230?
