I personally prefer the term Rooster Crew instead of Breakfast Club.

As far as curfew I would assume every coach expects players to break curfew as long as it isn't a huge habit. I also would also assume every player expects to be punished in house for breaking these small team rules and it will probably be painful.

People blowing this out of proportion are being ridiculous. I also think people rushing to judgement really just have the agenda of Jefferson being removed as the starting QB.

Since you also don't know what you're talking about. The fact that I come from a military family, and that pretty much to the man we resented being awoken to deal with immature behavior as this at 1:30 am. The disrespect for our personal time usually was reflected on promotional decisions.

You understand that don't you, lance corporal?

Military family? Interesting phrase.

I understand that even Marines are human and that the young will press the limits. I also know that it is understood and to a certain degree expected. I don't know of any commissioned or non commissioned officer that didn't understand and to varing levels approve. Nor do I recall any promotional penalties except in extreme cases. There is a difference between discipline and robotics.
I don't know where your service was, but I am certain that is you reflect back you will recall this.

Lance corporal? Aim just a bit higher. I am honored that you at least know the rank.

Well I guess so.

If I'm the starting QB at lsu heading into my senior year, I wouldn't be taking the chances JJ and other seniors were taking.

It amazes me that none of the seniors stood up and said "this isn't right, let's not do this"

Guess the rules don't really matter though.

I played college football. When we had a curfew, my teammates and I respected it. We realized that playing for our team was a privilege, and not just another opportunity to play cat-and-mouse with the powers that be.

Not at all.

But I was always in a position of leadership since I was 18 years old and led by example. If I couldn't follow the rules, how could I expect anyone else around me to?

Your halo is blinding us.

So what you are trying to get us to believe is that your NEVER broke any of the rules. Ever?

I intercepted this letter from one of the players.

quote:

Dear Coach Miles: We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it is we did wrong, but we think you're crazy for making us write an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain, and an athlete, and a basket case, a princess, and a criminal. Does that answer your question? Sincerely yours, The Breakfast Club.

I already told you, I was in a leadership position since I was 18. I made e-4 within a year and a half, and e-5 a year and a half later.

I didn't make rank so quick breaking rules and being a poor example to those below me.

Prefer not to say, but it was D-1. In the late 90s.

Let's just say that our team average SAT/ACT score was probably a little higher than it was at LSU.

The damn military has it's own police force and prison system. Yet these young men put their lives on the line for their fellow soldiers and sailors. I think that is a damn noble action. An action not tarnished by the fact that occasionally they may stay out too late, get tanked, chase women, and fight. No need to get all holier than thou.

Trust - lack of trust is one of the 5 dysfunctions of a team. Without trust, the team will not perform on all cylinders - period.

Guess what - the team trust was broken in a major way.

The trust of the coach with his players staying out of trouble.

The trust of the players that followed the rules and are now suffering because of the kids that refused to follow the rules.

The trust of the team leaders to act as exemplary examples is tarnished.

Blow it off but right now it does not have the appearance of the chemistry of a successful team.

In your mind, does this validate your long standing criticism of Les Miles?

I see it galvanizing the team, not splintering. We will see.

Since there is alot of military talk about discipline, what happens to a leader who willingly violates rules and allows/encourages those underneath him do it as well?

Just a guess, but I think the story were getting is much tamer than what will surface tomorrow and throughout the next week.

I think some bad shite went down, and were only getting very few details.

I went to Cornell. You may have heard of it (best safety school in the country).
