I think after this series is over Jay's going to bring him into the film room and show him how he failed to implement any of the swing changes they worked on during the offseason.

It’s obviously still too early, but there was a pretty big melt when we took his commitment after the lack of hitting he had his 2 years at SC. I think project did some digging on his advanced analytics. He was hitting a bunch of line drives and grounders, so the thought was that they can make some adjustments and have him hit more balls in the air. I think the problem with that is SC has done a great job of developing hitters, so it’s not like the guy hasn’t had good coaching before.

Que?

ETA: For the record, he had good contact on a handful of his outs this weekend.

Braswell hit .250 with 1 homerun both of his seasons at USCe. Not sure why many here was expecting a big change

He had 3 total HR in 2 years at SC. Hit .280 then .250. A bunch of posters thought he was going to be defensive depth at best. We didn’t take anyone else…. Most were expecting an upgrade from Thompson, but at least at the plate, it’s highly unlikely he will match Thompsons production.

It’s definitely a lateral move at best. Probably less game changing errors than Thompson.

Put him at the bottom of the order and hope he gets into some sac bunt situations.

He hit .284 as a freshman in 201 ABs and .255 as a sophomore in 153 ABs, with 2 HRs and 1 HR, respectively

Whats funny is if you check his USCe player page they're posting his LSU stats. Cant wait til CJJ transforms him into a .300 hitter with 20+ XBHs.. cock fans can keep up

I can’t say I’ve seen the laser beam arm on display yet either. Glove is above average range is so so. It’ll play itself out but with an offensive coach if Jay has options to hold serve on defense and improve offense I don’t think he’ll be set with Braswell at short.

I don't think he played alot of SS last year for SC. I think he played mostly 2B and 3B.

The guy is a .260 hitter tops
Not sure why anyone set high expectations for him if they did
