What's the story behind BH not being able to talk to the media? The only times I have seen him speak he comes across VERY well-spoken and mature beyond his years. He's not a true frosh, so did Miles just put the clamps on him to protect him for some other reason?

I would bet when he was talking about checking plays. Miles doesn't want anyone discussing this type of stuff. Matt Moscano called it when it happened.

He talked too much after the MSU game. Les nipped that in the bud real quick

The kid has a ton of great qualities, but this is definitely not one of them. He's obviously coming along this year, but let's not forget that immaturity was a major speed bump in his progress last season.

Then we will just need to agree to disagree. When he SPEAKS he sounds VERY mature. That is my opinion from each and every time I have heard him speak.

I can't find anything with an explanation of the interview ban.

Found this link about an interview (with no link to the actual interview): LINK

Wait a minute, you mean to tell me that LSU sometimes has more than one play available for the qb to call at the line of scrimmage? And now, because Brandon Harris spoke about it to the media, all of the other teams know our secret weapon?

This is just crazy talk. Why hasn't any other team thought of this?

He likes to talk, sometimes more than Miles wants from him.

No question in my mind - his head is in the right place. The ban is no doubt related to his comments about the number of checks in the MS game. I read about the ban right after. I don't believe it was punishment. The kid was just being forthright and didn't think about how that might be revealing competitive info. Coaches thought it might be best to just give him one less thing to worry about right now.

LINK

go to page 5 of the videos, and go to the "Harris said LSU checked out of plays". I couldn't get a more direct link, but he seems to go into a bit more detail about some things than I bet ol' Leslie would like.

I really didn't realize he hadn't said much to the media since before Auburn.

What could Harris possibly have revealed that our opponents don't know? we run fournette up the gut 75% of the time.

Well if every time you're checking into a new play, it's end up being a running play, defenses can key in on that.

Thanks ATL and 62 for the links. Got it.

Sounds like he was indeed pretty specific about the reason for the checks, perhaps a little too specific for Miles' liking.

Just like defenses could key onto Jarret Lee and Zach Mettenberger holding either their right hand or left hand behind their back to signal the running backs? Right hand, the ball went to the right, left hand, the ball went to the left. 100% of the time for 3 straight years.

Deception ain't a big part of the LSU offense.

It's not what he necessarily revealed in that interview, but given his candor, it was the possibility of what he could reveal in subsequent interviews.
