Soooo, the prediction that we can't get top 8 rpi may be correct?

if lsu is even close to the top 8, they will be heavily considered for a national seed because, well, money talks.
How is "money talks" relevant to LSU getting a national seed?

I'd say it's only relevant to hosting, and probably less so now than it used to be. And not relevant at all to a national seed.

Could we just flood the field with the sprinklers all night and day tomorrow so we don't have to take the hit to our RPI against northwestern?

Good news is that we'll likely finish the season with the most games against RPI Top 50 teams and will have a winning record against them.

That was after yesterday's update. Today's update shows that the chance exists if they win out. And it could change again.

We've learned from this thread:

1) Pointing out flaws in a calculation, even if said from the original posting of the OP, isn't enough to stop idiots from freaking out over a bad thread title

2) This site isn't an end-all be-all. Some people needed this thread to learn that; others knew it from the beginning.

The entire thread was pointless because no consideration was given to the SECT.

There were plenty of what ifs that would put LSU in the top 8 in RPIs before selection day.

I just clicked your updated link and it says this:

Louisiana State

Remaining: 1 home, 3 road, 0 neutral
Current RPI: 13
ROWP: 0.565

Top 45:

No more wins needed.

Top 32:

No more wins needed.

Top 16:

0 home wins, 2 road wins
1 home wins, 1 road wins

Top 8:

1 home wins, 3 road wins

Who cares. The committee will give you a national seed if you with the SEC and do well in the tourney.

You realize that our chance of winning the SEC outright is basically zero, right? We have to sweep MSU in Starkville AND Kentucky must win exactly two of three against Florida.

You're 3 days too late. There became a "chance" according to the algorithm after the Tuesday games finished throughout the nation.

I'm honestly starting to feel like as long as we don't go 0-3 over this next week, we're a natty seed.

Clemson is out. Wake is out. Stanford is still there. As long as there's a chance the SEC doesn't get 3 seeds and LSU isn't the outright SEC champ, I'm not going to give the committee any benefit of the doubt. I want that championship. RPI be damned.
