Some Notes:

- This assumes all opponents maintain their win/loss percentage
- Does not include conference tournaments
- Top 8 is not necessary for national seeding

RPI of remaining opponents:

Northwestern State - 231
Miss State - 19

ETA on 5/13/17: Updated report suggests that LSU has a chance if they win out.

ETA2 on 5/14/17: LINK Back to having no chance.

It seems that because of them, we have to win at least 6 games to finish in the top 16.

Is there a way to see what the effect would be if we replaced one Army win with an additional Air Force win, and added a San Diego game (win or loss)?

I know the La Col game isn't counted at all, that's why I say to just add the USD game.

ETA: Air Force is at 207 (warren Nolan) and Army at 231, so probably no real change there. But Air Force has better opponents, so there could be.

San Deigo is the number 50 RPI team.

With them all being home games, I don't think the AirForce/Army switch would mean much. San Diego would help some but maybe a spot. Breaking down our OOC:

Wins (RPI):

Air Force - 210
Army (2 games)- 236
Hofstra - 272
Maryland (3 games)- 24
Baylor - 15
Nicholls - 161
Wichita St (3 games)- 141
SELU - 35
Grambling - 278
ULL - 52
Lamar - 122

Losses (RPI):

UNO (2 games) - 136
TCU - 6
TTU - 3
McNeese - 43
Tulane (2 games) - 84
USA - 45

We're gonna lose to Northwestern State, which will only be a continuance of our downfall in the RPI.

Why do you assume we will lose to them?

No. This is only regular season. That's a good point though. I'll add it to the notes.

Depends on the other teams and who we play. No bonus for neutral site games. It's still unlikely at this point especially considering this doesn't include last night's loss.

I agree. I have a note in the OP about how a top 8 doesn't guarantee a seed.

If we don't get a super regional I just hope we don't have to go west if we win our regional

CPM usually plays to win SEC Tournament (even when other teams may not).

I certainly hope this info finds its way to the players and coaches; that dicking around with yet another mid-week opponent may have cost them hosting a super regional. Hopefully this will instill a stronger sense of immediacy and focus for the future.

The important thing is hosting a regional. Winning a super regional even at home this year with this team is a tall, tall order anyway.
