Not everyone has the money especially around Christmas time. Plus why the frick would I want to go halfway across the country, sit where I can't smoke, drinks are expensive as hell, have to sleep in a hotel, take off work and watch the toss dive when I have a perfectly free seat at my house?

It amazes me that over the past 10 years or so that our fan base only gets excited over 1 or 2 games a year. Season ticket holders complain about big time neutral site games, but don't go to or leave early, any home game that isn't an Alabama or Florida type match up. I guess its just part of being successful and then taking that success for granted.

I have 2 tickets, as I buy bowl tickets every year whether I can go or not. I USUALLY go, but me and Mrs. Giantkiller had a baby in November so it's not gonna happen.

I put them on Stubhub and I'm going to get torched. Still have them at face value but will likely drop them much lower in the next couple hours.

LSU fans are NOT GOING to this game. It was a huge mistake to not politic harder for another bowl, because this is not only going to embarrass LSU, it will embarrass the SEC. Sorry for being real.

Just wait. Joe Alleva will send out an email criticizing the fans for not buying tickets, and try to make us feel guilty for not going to the game. He'll tell us that a poor showing by the fans could lead to better bowls passing on us in the future, yada, yada, yada. If it's true that the LSU administration did little to nothing to try to get the Tigers into a better bowl game, then Alleva has only himself to blame for lost revenue on poor ticket sales.

What I don't get is why there are so many LSU fans that think this is a sub-par bowl? Is it the corporate brand name? Is it the fact that it's not a "New Years Day" bowl? Is it the match-up of Clemson? Is Atlanta that fricked up of a location?

The payout is big. It's Primetime and the only game on. It's 2 top 15 teams. I just don't get everyone getting their panties in a wad over this bowl? The CFA group was ecstatic over this. To me, it's the other Bowls who lost out on not selecting LSU. In addition, I don't want to be on New Years Day competing with a shiteload of other games for viewership.

I am excited about going to Atlanta for chicken bowl. The Georgia dome is a good venue, it's a cheap flight and a really cheap ticket (got tickets in lower corner end zone for $35 each). Not to mention Atlanta is a pretty fun town. I hope to see a few tiger faithful making the trip.

My main concern is that the players feel like a lot of the fans do about this game and they come out flat, play down to the level of the competition instead of what this team is capable playing like.

That ignores the reality of the situation. CFA gets SEC 6. The conference just made accommodations for a moral victory Georgia with a weak schedule and a laughable coach and two teams that LSU beat. No SEC teams were beating the door down to get in the CFA. That is why Georgia had to be "protected" from falling there. Now they can get arse-pounded by a B1G team as is tradition.

Without any of the context you can blame LSU fans. With context, the SEC fricked us and LSU has to eat the cost of the conference going out of its way for all of its teams but LSU. Thems the breaks.

Agreed. I am looking forward to it. I see all the posts saying "no one is going to this game" but I know many people who are going and planning a fun weekend in Atlanta. I don't hate on people for going or not going...everyone is free to decide, but I think it's going to be a good game and I always enjoy Atlanta.

The fact that it's a New Years Eve game (plus a somewhat lesser opponent)is keeping LSU fans away. I would imagine many people have other plans and obligations on that night.

By the way, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to all my fellow rantards.
