re: Bottom line -- you can't win without QB play

He's been banned twice in nearly three years. Once for something on the RB. Once for less than four hours.
People don't get banned for criticism. There is always an aggravating factor.

I was just explaining why people are more in agreement on it at this moment, then back when he said the samethings. Posters here dont like when you criticize les, unless its after a loss. I know and appreciate the admins for not banning just for criticisms, otherwise id have been banned thousands of times

I believe a lot goes back to how miles treated lee and Jefferson especially in the national championship game. miles shows great love for dual threat qb for what reason I don't know, so who would come to LSU knowing this

I figure that to get to the SECCG, you need a top-3, maybe top-4 SEC QB--that is, a QB who statistically ranks among the top 3 or 4 QBs in the conference. I don't even know if Mettenberger ranked that high last season.

It's a damn miracle we can have any success running the ball with such a bad passing game. Jennings decides who he is throwing to before they leave the huddle. The scheme is so bad though. I was laughed at when I said afew weeks ago that all we do is throw the ball deep down the sidelines. Mix in a few slants and that is it. Freaking middle school passing game.

I agree 1000% . We have to have a qb and we dont. Bottom line

I know they offered Lowell Narcisse for the 2017 class and he is a strong LSU lean. Kid is a stud -- 2nd leading passer in the state plus over 1000 yards rushing, and he's only a soph... intelligent kid too, plus his brother and 1st cousin are mentoring him (both played college ball and cousin played for Seahawks)

for the life of me I just can't understand why admins let you stay on this board, unless you are designated to be that guy.
You mean the desperation perfect pass for the first td to dupre, or the desperation second perfect pass to dupre where dupre needs to know where he is on the field....or the dropped pass by the fb in overtime that would have resulted in a very big play.....you have one agenda on here, period.

there is nothing wrong with criticism, at all...I do it as well. It's the ignorant bs criticism by idiots that have no idea what they are talking about, and only have an agenda. You are correct, you could have, and quite frankly should have been banned long ago as you fit the bill above perfectly.

Well, Tigerofthehollowcranium, if you want a board with nothing but sunshine pumping maybe you should try lesmiles.net.
I call it as I see it.

This is completely it. Jennings "managed" well enough to win. His stats are aweful, if he were a better Qb like Sims at the end we win.

Mettenberger was a JUCO transfer who already had plenty of development
THIS!
Mettenberger was enrolled for Spring practice in 2011, and could easily have been the starter in 2011. Don't believe the BS that Miles was putting out; I saw clips oof him in JUCO, and despite his flaws, he was already better than JJ and JL. No, Miles was bound and determined that JJ would be the starter, which would have been the case had the fight never occurred. And had JJ been the starter from the beginning of the season, there would never have been a 1/9/2012, as there would have been no undefeated season!

No, he didn't. Check the scoreboard again.

The difference between the LSU & Bama programs is QB play...nothing more nothing less. For the most part the talent level on both rosters has been pretty much equal over the years.
Most match ups of equally talented teams will come down to QB play. It's the most important position on the field when the opponent has a pulse. When the O-N-E player on offense that touches the ball every play fricks up repeatedly, the chance of winning is dramatically reduced.
I think Saban learned his lesson with QBs in '04 when he played ping pong with Russell and Randall. Identify your most talented, competent QB in camp and go with him exclusively barring injury.

JJJr, is a master of no trade. He does not do one thing well that we can rely on. If Harris does not get a chance then we will have wasted last years awesome class because we won't have a qb yet again

He's apparently good enough to beat us I would surmise.
