While not reported officially, this has been known for a while. ESPN had attempted to make a move to get Al Michaels back and try to pair him with Manning; but both of them shot ESPN down.

I like booger as an all time LSU legend and a great man, but lets face it, he wasn't good as a color analyst. He will find something to do though, I wonder if he wants to get into coaching? I believe ehe would be good at it with how personal me he is and how passionate he is about the game. He will be fine with whatever he chooses to do in life, but i have to agree that there are better options out there for mnf besides booger and Joe Tess.

Not surprised at all. Nice and funny guy, but not someone I enjoy hearing mumble around for 3 hours on MNF.

I turned it off when he was on. Espn tho put him in a position to fail as he wasn’t ready for that

Mind has been unbearable since Frank, Howard and Dandy Don left.

I think he still has a future in studio shows, perhaps the SEC Network. Since Romo hit the airwaves as an analyst, people expect those guys to be more insightful.

Romo was a pro QB for many years. He was never going to be that knowledgeable because of the position he played as opposed to Romo. Comparing him to Dandy Don Meredith, Dan Fouts, Frank Gifford, those offensive types of guys, is unfair to him. He will always have a different perspective. To me, pair a defensive, offensive, and PBP guy and you have the best of both worlds to me. Especially, a defensive guy that called plays like a Lb, safety, etc. Clark I’m MNF would be outstanding IMO.

Using seniority to place commentators. This may be a sign college football will be delayed or non-existent.

Actually, I thought Booger was trying to do the John Madden 'keep it simple and show enthusiasm' schtick (Boom!). Note that Troy Aikman has had a long career saying "heckuva" at least once a half. I root for him but my favorite Boogerism was "do you know what I like? I like that they try to get pressure on the quarterback" and I thought uh, Booger, that literally happens every single time they snap the football... he'll be back soon.

If he sucks, he sucks. You saying we have to like his crappy announcing out of loyalty to LSU?

It's amazing how often you hear this level of analysis used by highly paid commentators.

On any given Sunday during spring or summer, some golf analyst will explain how Tiger really wants to knock down this putt.

Bring Jaws back. Always loved Jaworski and rarely see him anymore. His analysis during the game was as good as Collinsworth.

A bird singing in the meadow is caught in an early snowdrift. He is freezing and about to die when a cow takes a dump on him. The warm poop thaws him out. He returns to normal under the cow pattie and begins to sing.
A fox hears him, digs him out and eats him.
