Frank Wilson has been an incredible recruiter since his arrival at LSU consistently landing top 10 classes. His LA high school head coaching career has a lot to do with his success.

Enough crap here is question: Will Frank Wilson eventually become LSU's first black coach?

I hope and believe that he will. Obviously, a ways off but I think he or Chief would be a very deserving successor. The thought came to mind b/c NSD.

I'm pretty sure chief doesn't want to be a head coach

I think so. If he's here long enough I think you'll eventually see him given the head coach in waiting title.

If Frank ever becomes our head coach, the NCAA will drop the hammer on us within five years.

No. LSU IMO would not hire a position coach for the HC job. LSU is now one of the top coaching jobs in the country. Major names would be considered for this gig.

Don't get me wrong, the guy is a hell of a running backs coach, but his recruiting methods, while fantastic in the results they produce, are a tad shady.

Oh, trust me, I know that, which is why neither will ever be a head coach at a program worth a shite.

He needs to work his way up the ranks to OC first.

saw his interview yesterday and thought he did excellent job with the press. I think the fact that he has gotten outstanding recruiting classes has proven his ability. I have to agree that with millions of dollars at play the HC postion is going to be filled with a big name high profile proven name rather than a promotion from within the ranks.

Without going into any details, I can tell you FOR A FACT the Frank and Les run a tight ship when it comes to recruiting tactics. You'll just have to trust me on this, but they do not walk the line one bit.

I agree with this. LSU is a top 5 job in the country and should not settle on an assistant. Frank is a great recruiter and position coach, but that's all he's been. He's obviously an incredibly valuable piece to the staff, so I hope he stays in some capacity forever.

Have there been any rumblings of him being offered a coordinator position anywhere?
