You guys LOVE falling for flavors of the month.

Hill is the flavor of the month? He quite possibly will leave after his sophomore season for the NFL. I don't exactly think he is the "flavor of the month".

Both are good backs. They will both see significant playing time this year (assuming Hill is welcomed back) and they will both perform at a very high level.

Blue is Rondell Measley all over again and Hill is that rare combo of speed and power with elusiveness.

Must not watch too much football. I dont think we even have a McCluster clone on the team. And i did love McCluster. Tough as nails out there.

Both backs are good, maybe even great. Blue is as complete a back as we have had. Runs inside and out, catches well, pass blocks rare, and is a hard worked that everybody on the team respects. Hill is the rare combo of size, speed, elusiveness, and always goes forward. They complement each other so well.

That said, if i had to pick 1, I would take Hill. If hes available. Blue is just too injury prone. And, like someone said, he really hasnt played against a top notch defense in crunch time. Yea, he dominated some games against SEC opponents that were blow outs. But, never was in there for crunch time. Hill has already done that against some great SEC D.

But, they both are great RBs. And it seems like every week we get in a debate over who is better that who. They both are great.

I don't understand how people can make this assessment from two games. He showed a ton of potential..

Blue is much more a flavor of the month than Hill is.. As PomPom incorrectly brought up.

People are sleeping on Hilliard. I think he will be the stud we thought he was going to be during his 2011 campaign

Dude if you read my entire post you will see that I think Hill is better.

And he is a very complete back. Not just back, football player. And its an assessment made over more than just last year. He was a special team stud early on in his career. Practice and spring games and during games he showed he can catch the ball out the backfield very well. Also great pass blocker. Dude is a complete player for us and has done it all in his 3 years playing.

But please read my entire post. I think Hill is better than Blue. Just think Blue brings a little bit of everything to the table. While Hill is a work horse that gets better later as the game goes on and is a monster. Both are very very good.

Hilliard has some loyal fans here haha. I like him and I heard that he worked really hard and slimmed down. Which I like to see. But, its not his thickness or size that I dont like. And hopefully since he slimmed down he got a little more speed, which is huge because he was flat out slow last year and would get caught in the open field wayyy too easy. But Its his running mentality that gets me. I would give my left nut if it would get Hilliard to run like a Spencer Ware. Delivering the contact instead of taking it. Not turning your back to the defender and trying to back into the endzone on goal line. He would be the best RB on the team if he ran like Ware.

We should two back system blue and hill. Our running game would be unstoppable.

Sure it would be. Might I remind you that this isn't the Big 12. Nowadays you can count on there being at least a handful of good rushing defenses in the league. If your Blue and Hill combination was unstoppable, then you wouldn't need much improvement in playcalling and the passing game. LSU fans wouldn't be concerned about the schedule.

I don't see the reason for this debate. We have both on our team, and both are great backs. I'll be thrilled with whoever gets the bulk of the carries.

What Hill was able to do against A&M, USCe and Bama in consecutive games was extremely impressive. Topped it off with good games against Ole Miss & Clemson(zero carries in the 4th quarter). Best combination of size and speed since Alexander the Great in the late 70's.

Reminds me of Anthony "A-Train" Thomas from Michigan(via Winnfield).

Blue is a good back from what we've seen.

He's just been Hurt every season and when he's done good its been against inferior competition or on the back end of blowouts.

He's not exactly a proven commodity to be trusted as a feature back.

Blue is good, Hill is better.

Blue and Hill have both taken advantage of their opportunities. Blue's injury last year set him back, but I expect both to contribute a great deal this season.

I actually find their running styles to be similar. They both have great top speed, quickness, vision and are tough to bring down. I'd be upset if they don't see equal amounts of carries over the course of the season.

Hilliard has to be itching to get more in the mix after last season, but Magee may end up getting more touches than Hilliard due to his versatility and Cam's scheme. Hopefully Hill gets back on the team soon and we continue to have this "problem".

So who out there would draft Blue over Hill today?
Minus injuries and handcuffs.

Blue is good but Hill has the potential to be a superstar and possibly even a Heisman candidate.

Blue vs Hill

I don't even know why this continues to be a viable topic of debate. Based on their game play to date, Hill is far and away the better back. He had epic games against premiere defenses like Alabama and South Carolina. Blue hasn't done anything comparable thus far.
