... but they are trying to change the culture down there and I can't wait to be a part of that."

I really hope Tiger fans, especially the younger ones, embrace what Johnny Jones is doing witht the basketball program. In my mind, there is no reason LSU has to solely be a football school. Will it always reign supreme? Probably.

But there is no reason to think that we can't be like a Florida or Ohio State who enjoy sustained success and fan support for their basketball program as well.

Pack the P-Mac and the Dale Brown era was a little before my time, but I sure do hope to see the resurrection of it under Coach Jones.

We could be looking back at the Simmons and Blakeney commitments as program changing moments.

He picked a bad day to commit then because we just got a 5 star football commit 20 minutes after him that will overshadow him ironically

Great day for LSU, we needed one

I'm really excited about Tyron Johnson, but his commitment is not really on the level of Blakeney's.

Though you're probably right, it will get overshadowed to an extent.

At least we know Blakeney will be adequately used by the coaching staff.

I am pumped we got a five star basketball player and football player. I'm a season ticket holder to both and missed one game. It was the basketball game Monday before Xmas since I flew to Cali that morning. I love LSU football baseball and basketball

One recruit in basketball can change everything, not so much in football. I am super pumped as well. Need to lock up Lyle and Mcveigh. How many scholarships do we have for next year?

IDK about "way more" but both hold tremendous amounts of excitement for me.

One commitment denies the decline and catapults us into a top 10 class, the other solidifies the rapid incline of LSU BBall. The Golden Age.

But CLM skill position players are always so fresh and like-new when they get to the next level. Unlike that mean ol Saban who wears all the tread off his players .

Despite the negativity that's constantly running rampant on this board, it really is a great time to be a tiger fan...

We have a great chance to succeed in every sport starting with basketball, then baseball, then football in the fall...

Especially since it's already been done. For a 17 year stretch, from 1976-1993, Dale Brown's program was easily the number 2 program in the SEC and several stretches in their found them number one in the league. JJ lived about 3/4 of that period and I agree that he appears very close to taking that big step up. I've said since pre-season practice that the current club will challenge to be a solid number two in the league this season and still think so. We're witnessing the beginning of a rising roundball era for the Bayou Bengals program.

I've seen more hype on Blakeney, and deservedly so. Basketball requires only 5 starters, football 22. Keen observation, I know...

If next years tigers can get into the top 10, we might be tailgating for basketball games and packing the PMAC again!!!

We have a history with basketball. Football will always be king but basketball and baseball have been well supported over the years. Just need JJ to put a good product on the court which is in process. Future looks bright.
