Agreed, which begs the question, why couldn't Miles see the difference between Harris and Etling and pull the trigger on the switch?

Honestly I think he had real faith that Harris would have improved from last year and wanted to give him every opportunity to gain his confidence back against Jack St. When that didn't happen I think he finally realized we were dealing with another Jennings

Cam was an NFL coach and coordinator. Miles was an NFL coach.
Cameron's effectiveness is yet to be seen, Miles is an offensive dimwit. Spin it however you want

Harris can hit all the throws in practice but under the lights, it's just not translating right now.

I was the same way. Only competitive sport I played in school was golf. I could shoot -3, -4 under on the reg casually. When the pressure was on in big tourneys I would struggle to break 75,

I really hope hope BH can turn it around if he is called on to get back in there.

I remember Saban talking about Rohan Davey once and how bad he was in practice but when it was game time he could drop it in a garbage can at 50 yards.

This post is entirely too level headed for TigerDroppings.

You do realize Etling scored on his first 3 possessions coming off the bench as a backup with the same coaching...

So much stupid in these threads.

Not the same in practice.....can't handle the pressure during the game.

I agree. The young man did his best with the situation. Its not his fault.

Yep! Same coaching except, Etling's two years at Purdue. Just like Mett had the same coaching except his year at Georgia and year at JC.
Just like JR and Flynn, same coaching, except their two years with Jimbo.

Notice a pattern?

You do realize that Etling has had other QB coaching besides Miles and Cam?

I understand what you are getting at but I don't think coaching is causing him not to be able to complete 10 yard passes. And coaching is not causing him to overthrow so many receivers.

He wasn't producing at the tasks he had control over.

That is why people are down on him.

I think most fans blame this coaching staff. They could have the guy more prepared than that I mean geez. I know some people just aren't made for pressure situations but he could perform better than he has been.

The Kid worked his tail off I know that so I don't place much blame on him. We actually still don't know what we have in etling until SEC play and the pressure is put on him. Harris could very well come back and play with fire and passion we not he even knew he had.

It's amazing to me that when you take into consideration the number of practices/workouts BH has had since he arrive on campus that no one was able to get his footwork and mechanics together.

Tebow had all of the best coaches in the world try to correct his mechanics. Sometimes natural tendencies are too much to overcome through coaching.

I also have a feeling that where Miles is concerned, he knew that another QB that he recruited and coached and eventually failed was only going to throw gas on the fire.

Good point that illustrates the difference between HS, college and NFL level talent.

Never know with these things, the kid can play but it's awfully hard when your supposed best wr dupre is dropping every damn pass and the weight of the world is on you or you feel that way. GT

Terrible coaching and inept offense? Then how does a backup come in and produce? Harris just isn't the qb everyone thought he was going to be. We just need a qb to get the ball to the playmakers a la MM and MF.

As a highly touted qb out of high school I would run from LSU. But last night Brennan tweeted "thats why I'm an LSU commit!"
With Miles record with qbs how do we keep getting these qbs out of high school?

The fact that after three years in the program he still cannot throw accurately or read a defense and go through his progressions is a reflection not on him but his coaches. He has nothing to hang his head for. It's all on Les. Harris is just another in a long line....
