can the people that put these events on just try a little harder to bring someone different in? "Hey traveling fans, here's a band you can go see in Baton Rouge at least 5 times a year, except they're coming here so its like you didn't have to even leave home at all!!"

I think participation would be higher if people knew the details of the event. As someone mentioned earlier, what are the alcohol prices, food selections, hours, etc?

Nope!!!!

I will be outside in the heat at 1:00 (Platinum Lot Pass) tailgating with more than 1 plate of food, and all the alcohol I care to bring. Then I will walk on over to see Cowboy Mouth, because I can't see them as often as BTE, eventhough I do like BTE. Then I will walk back over to my tailgate to eat and drink some more in the heat, then go into the game, where there is A/C!

I don't really appreciate how this whole thing has felt like the Alumni Tailgate has been shoved town our throats. When we tailgate at LSU games, there's no A/C, nor is there any A/C in Tiger Stadium, so what's the big deal with that?

I do hope they raise some money though.

I saw both Cowboy Mouth and BTE as part of the summer pool concerts at the Golden Nugget in Biloxi. Cowboy Mouth was much worse than I remembered, but BTE was a good time. It didn't hurt to have girls in bikinis all around either.

Beer will be $5. Liquor, wine, craft beer will be priced similar to a bar versus the marked up Armarak prices.

Yeh this tailgate is not for everyone, but it's designed to send some kids to LSU from the Houston area who would otherwise not get that opportunity.

Remember when LSU played actual road games and LSU fans would take over a bars near campus and interact with other fanbases? It used to be awesome. Now its neutral site games and horrible pregame/night before events put on by alumni groups or big tailgates. This tailgate party will be just like all the others. Overpriced and not worth it. I really wish all this nonsense would stop. Alumni groups especially should stop. At least we get syracuse next year. Hopefully that wont turn into a neutral site game in buffalo or something. Although Im sure the buffalo alumni chapter could get better than ezra, travis matte, the chee weez, david st romain or whoever to come up and play a boring, overpriced "party" too.

frick neutral site games & frick these "parties".

Exactly. Don't know why anyone is hating on it. Don't go if it's not your thing. Personally, I will not attend, but I'm glad my parents and their friends have a good place to go.

I'm sure if some of yall posted what yall were doing pregame, there would be a lot of people saying, "no way would I do that. These kids need to grow up. What are they 16?"

No, but there are trees that provide shade and grass.
Reliant tailgating is all on a giant parking lot. I think you are underestimating how hot it is actually going to be out there.

Like you, I live in the Houston area and go to some of the Texans games and tailgate, so I do understand what it is like. No' it's not the same as LSU w/trees, grass, etc. However,it's called take some EZ Ups for shade, cold beer, a pit, music, and water and you will have a great time. It's not like NRG is in the middle of the desert...

Again, I hope the Alumni Assoc. makes some money and has a great turnout, but my impression from people and message responses, it that they feel like it is being shoved down throats constantly.

People are mostly unhappy about the price and lack of included beer.

$50+ forced BTE + over priced drinks (despite what "my home boy says were negotiated down") + having to be in shitty Houston =

It is sad that Dallas out shines Houston for a party. I hope our team has a better showing than the H-twon alumni association.

Why again can we not do this in NOLA?

$50 is an aggressive price for an out of town tailgate when people are already footing lodge and premium ticket prices. Hope it works out for them. I'm sure it will.

There are a shite ton of LSU folks in Houston. Not everyone has to pay for lodging.

BTE has a nice nostalgic factor for those who didn't stay in LA after graduation. And it's Houston, $50 ain't shite baw.
