This team needed a playmaker and that happened Saturday. If the defense keeps progressing................ well, look the frick out.

I am not sure about that. I think we have a better QB situation in Harris and RB with LF, but the defense is not as dynamic as 2011.

2011 team made it to the SECCG and NC, 2015 team has beat Miss St, and Auburn. Im going with 2011 team until proven otherwise.

Add some depth on D and it's better. Offense is already better.

pump the brakes...the 2011 team, if they would have completed the task by beating Alabama a second time, would have gone down as the greatest BCS era team. The 2011 regular season was an incredible run.

I disagree completely.

Not only was the defense more talented in 2011, particularly the defensive line, but we were routinely throwing the ball for ~200 yards per game.

Not ready to say that.

We're better at QB and RB and I think overall on offense for sure, but I think we're a pretty far on defense from that 2011 defense.

That was the GOAT LSU defense and I don't think its close. We had the hardest schedule in the country and absolutely fricking dominated it.

This is exactly how I feel, but I am optimistic about their potential.

However, the glaring difference is in the punting game. Wing was so effective at flipping the field that he became a weapon.

Had that talent in 2011 too. Claiborne and Reid, TM would've been, then brooks and taylor. That was an insane secondary.

And that DL was a monster. Brockers and Logan both start in the league and do very, very well.

This offense will be better. Better OL, better RB, better QB. 2011 defense won't be touched.

VERY true. Wing might have won us that game in Tuscaloosa with a fricking 75 yard punt

He just dominated field position for us. Also had a good kicker and I am not confident in that this year either.

ETA:

And let us not forget TM winning a couple games for us with his punt returns. Tre White isn't going to do that for us.

Defense - 2011 (by a good margin at this point)
Offense - 2015
Special Teams - 2011 (by a good margin at this point)
