Making the exception of not posting in the food board, because this has more to do with an away game than food. Check out Beth's Cafe in Seattle. Saw it last night on Man v. Food, looked local and delicious. SPOILER: The omlete won.

if you like 1/2 gallon of oil on your eggs and sitting in a complete dump as you eat, it's great.

I'd..... pass.....

That was cool only when I was a student and drunk as a skunk at 2 am.

Pass, unless you are still completely trashed at 2am after the game.

What's your suggestion--from one shyster to another--for a place to watch the early games on Saturday in downtown (staying at the Olympic)? Thanks.

Sadly, Seattle lacks on good sports bars...

BTW... the Olympic is the original University of Washington. UW owns the 4 city blocks in that area...

Anyway... Fox Sports is decent, about a 2 minute walk from your hotel. Sport is across the street from the Space Needle, or a $5 cab ride. Buckley's is new and is located in Belltown, between Fox Sports and Sport. You can walk there or a $5 cab ride.

Many thanks for the info on sports bars. And in the spirit of friendly rivalry, I will offer you an equally obscure (to outsiders) tidbit of LSU history. The first president of LSU, when it was a small military academy located on the grounds of what is now the state capitol complex, was none other than William Tecumseh Sherman, for whom (in light of his activities after he left Louisiana)not one street, building, or outhouse on the campus is named.

what about FX McCrory's? is that still a decent sports bar down by Qwest Field?

if so, it's only about a 10 minute walk through the junkies from the Olympic isn't it?
