The 1996 downpour against Miss St happened at halftime. Players went into half dry as a bone. Came out and the field was a swamp. There’s good footage somewhere of Kevin Faulk being tackled and hydroplaning on the water.
Rain cleared some time in the second half and typical La weather it became scorching hot.

Not student section related but one of the funniest things I remember:

Really drunk LSU fan slowly walking up to his seat. He stops on a step directly next to this quiet older couple dressed in Ark gear... he never looks at them, takes a giant sniff and then says really loudly, I smell bacon!” Slowly continues his walk up the stairs. Cracked the whole section up...

The ole Miss LSU Game used to be played in Jackson Miss. They set the Ole Miss Student sections only a few sections apart one year in early eighties. (They were about equal in size) So both student bodies played red rover red rover and someone would get shite faced and every one would goat then to going to to rival student section and waiving big rebel flag, or Tiger flag etc. which would immediately result in that person getting pelted with whiskey, beer, bottles etc.
(People were generally throwing the plastic pint bottles etc so no one got killed etc.) This went one the whole game. Our turn then yours.

Finally, in the forth quarter this crazy sob came stubbling over wearing a LSU helmet, flipping every one off in ole miss section, May have mooned everyone too, And every damn ole miss fan with a drink, bottle etc threw it. ( including glass) It was most amount of shite thrown at a game I have ever seen.

Police had to take him to nurses station, but he was far too wasted too care just keep flying the bird.

Both student sections were laughing their asses off of what a drunk idiot that guy was.
I am pretty sure LSU won the game but honestly that’s all I can remember about that game. Good times

I got two but not from the student section,

When we stormed the field against Florida, me and my bro were wee little boys. We ran to mid field and pulled up some grass from the field, made sure to get all colors, took it home planted it in the middle of my parents yard. It grew for many yrs. it was my brothers and I tiger stadium

When we stormed the field against auburn, I was running for the end zone and passed an auburn player with his head down. I slapped that arse so hard, and just kept running.

Good times!!

It was a 11 a.m. Jefferson pilot special when LSU hosted South Carolina and it was a quagmire. I was in the truck as part of the production. I think that night the Yankees won the World Series in 1996

The old west upper deck opened in 1978.

Anyhow, I do recall the rain of oranges

Positive the West Upper was there and not only oranges were raining down from up there through the fog, but the cushion bottoms of stadium seats. They would just appear out of the fog like UFO frisbees..it was really kind of dangerous!

In 2000 we beat Bama for the first time since 1969. I think this was the game but we had 3 guys with chests painted LSU sitting behind us. They were contemplating streaking onto the field. If I remember correctly we encouraged them to run all the way across the field and mooning the Bama fans. The 3 of them walked down and 2 decided to do it. They jumped the fence and made it all the way across and pulled it off. I’m hoping a student will do it again this year. So many memories as a student.
I actually remember this. I remember seeing two guys calmly jog to around the center of the field, and then proceeded to pull their shorts down.

From the student section, it looked like they were mooning the Bama players. The crowd cheered, but of course it never made it on TV.

Sometime around the '09-'11 seasons there was a highly rated recruit who walked by the student section and someone tore off the cover of a pizza box from the concession stand and made a "letter of intent" on it for him to sign. He eventually signed it and everyone went nuts.

I think it was Ray Drew who eventually signed with UGA

Oh yes indeed you are correct. LSU had beaten Bama and seemed on its way to Sec title and then lost the next week to...........................anyone? MooMoo State. Still had high hopes to play in Orange Bowl vs Nebraska if they could get by FSU. Dalton Hilliard scored on a pass and long run atc from Alan Risher which ended right in front of the student section and he stood there just staring up at the fans and they rained oranges on the end zone. I was shocked because I didn't know anything about the oranges but somehow the word must have been spread for everyone to bring in a few. Never forget Hilliard just standing there with all those oranges.

I remember this game. It was the wear white game vs miss state. It poured down rain at half time and the student section became a wet t-shirt contest. Hopefully I didn’t get hit by your dad’s pee.

Whoa, I remember this. It was actually a huge turning point in the game. Crowd was starting to fade a little when this happened and it livened up the crowd at a critical point in the game. I remember it for that reason because we talked about it afterwards. These guys deserved a game ball.

I remember Saban on the radio show saying that he probably should thank them because he said it woke the crowd and the team up.

White out game years ago.

Started raining

Turned into a giant drunken wet t shirt contest.

Don't think we've had a white out game since

From LSU's own website (LINK ):

The original upper deck atop the west stands was completed in 1978, and it added 8,000 seats to the stadium's capacity.
