I still say that Dalton Hilliard is the most amazing and effective RB I have ever seen at LSU during modern times (no offense intended re: Billy Cannon). Faulk may be the all time leader, but I think that my point is reinforced even more but the fact that he has not been as effective in the NFL as Hilliard was. Hilliard's moves were (pardon the audacity) very much like what you eventually saw in Barry Sanders. It was a blast to watch him juke so many safeties in the open field once he was into the secondary.

What u say??

Faulk has had a pretty solid career.

Dalton is not a bad choice. Can't help but wonder how amazing Cecil Collins could have been.

OMG get off it! there is obviously a reason that he isnt getting any playing time. either he's not producing in practice or some kind of run in with one of the coaches. either way, i wouldnt give a kid the ball if he had an attitude of "I dont need to practice" (not to say that is KW problem, this is a big "what if"). LM knows what he's doing.

All Hail Lesticles!!

It's still Cannon folks. Remember that eras are usually apples and oranges to compare but Cannon's measurables transcend time. 6'2" 225#, strong as a mule and ran a 9.9 hundred yard dash. He would have been a coveted player to this day. And in today's more fast-paced game when there are 20-25% more plays run than yesteryear, Cannon's stats would have been much better.
Alexander, Hilliard, Faulk, Taylor, Stovall, Addai,Toefield, D.Davis,Brad Davis,Gajan, Robiskie, Trigger Allen, James, Mealey, Collins, Van Buren, Williams,Vincent,Hester and Scott equals a long line of fine, NFL caliber backs. Probably missed a couple. In ten years we could probably add another half-dozen to the list.

If Charles Alexander, he probably would have been the top RB. However, I have to give Cannon his due. Hilliard would have to be third.

Dalton Hillard was special, but it was somewhat downhill after his amazing freshman year. K. Faulk #1, Cannon #2, then Hillard. Addai has to be up there. Alexander was a big dud in my opinion (maybe #4.) In a lot of ways he is like KW. Size, speed, body, but can't "move." I think T. Robiske was better. Also I would rather have Brad Davis (last year was '73.) Tolefield, Davis, Williams, Mealey, (forget the Cadillac) and Hester, also "Hokey" Gaughin (spell??).

Hilliard!!! hands down. Tough, shifty, super quick first three steps, guts..did more with what he had than any before or since.

Faulk is my vote. No disrespect to the others, I think Hilliard was just as good though.

Didn't get to see Cannon or Alexander in real life.

I am going with LSU's All Time Leading Rusher and the SEC's All-Time leader in All-Purpose yardage. Oh, and he is the only one mentioned to score 5 rushing touchdowns in a single game. Kevin Faulk.

Dalton Hillard was my favorite. If anyone has a highlight video of him I want it for my computer.

Unfortunately I think the best RB LSU has ever seen was Cecil the Diesel! I think he could have been in the top 3 running backs of all times if he had not of been such a freaking headcase lunatic.
