Anyone else miss gorilla ball?
Larson may have played just one year, but he was a beast...

I preferred the more defensive years from 1986 to 1993 that Bertman was known for.

I thought he was known for winning national championships?

Well yeah, that too.
Before 1991, he was known as a great pitching coach ... and, of course, a great "visualizer."

I agree with Todd Walker.
Related, why was Walker such a journeyman in the majors? The dude was a solid hitter (.290 career), but played for 7 teams in just 12 seasons.

He was often criticized for his lack of range as a second baseman.

And he didn't have the pop for a corner infielder/corner outfielder/DH spot? Honest question.

Honestly, I don't know. He seemed to reach the pinnacle of his career with that monster ALCS he had in 2003 ( LINK): "The Red Sox made the playoffs and Walker stepped up his performance again; he hit .313 with three homers in the American League Division Series against the Oakland A's, and .370 with two more homers and hits in every game against the New York Yankees in the ALCS. The Red Sox were eliminated in 7 games. Walker's 5 postseason homers are still a Red Sox record. Despite his performance, Walker was allowed to leave, signing with the Chicago Cubs via free agency."
Then Theo Epstein trades him to the Cubs, and the Cubs strangely underutilize him from 2004-06. By the end of the 2006 season he was 33 years old, and I guess nobody really wanted him anymore. He could still hit in the .280 - .300 range around the very end of his career, so it seems as if somebody could have squeezed some more use out of him, but nobody did.
Paul Byrd & Russell Springer, however, are still freaking around!!

You're good, Doc. You had two right away (including what I thought was the obscure one) and I was waiting a while to see if anyone else wanted to give it a shot.
Yes, Adcock managed that one year, a full season, eighth place finish.
While looking up Ryan, I learned he went to Jesuit of N.O., alma mater of Rusty Staub and Will the Thrill, among others.
Alvin Dark is still with us.

He was the one born out of Louisiana. Where did he go to high school?

but I'll always remember sitting in Rosenblatt watching Ryan Theriot hitting Brad Cresse in from second base to win the 2000 College World Series.
You'll always remember that huh?
Well I guess you'll be the only one.
