Les has to know that you got to go for two there. #badextrapointdecisions

What did Paul Johnson do?
Les said in the build up that stopping the option is a team effort and it takes assignment football. Paul Johnson said he heard Les say that and that that is a stupid thing to say because all football is assignment football. He went on and on, basically trying to imply that Les is an idiot. So Les kicked the shite out of him.
quote:
"ASSIGNMENT FOOTBALL:" By accident or design, Georgia Tech football coach Paul Johnson poked fun at LSU head coach Les Miles and defensive co-coordinators Doug Mallory and Bradley Dale Peveto at a press conference the day before the game. But LSU's coaches had the last laugh.
"I get a chuckle out of people when they say, 'It's really assignment defense,'" Johnson said in reference to what many opposing coaches say about defending the triple-option attack of Tech.
Paul Johnson's remarks at a pregame press conference with CLM.
"When isn't it assignment defense? I mean I don't care what offense you're playing, you're in the wrong gap or you blow your coverage, you get lit up," Johnson said with Miles seated right next to him.
At the same podium one day before, Mallory and Peveto repeatedly said defending Tech was "assignment football." Miles also used the same term several times over the last month.

If you add importance to the ame I'd say bounce pass vs Gaytors

I've never seen a more confident and cocky fanbase before a game become completely deflated like GT was during that game...
The triple option was exposed for the fraud that it is that night.

Didn't they fake punt on the first possession of Les Miles career at LSU? I think we were pinned deep against Arizona St.
Not the best, but it set the tone.

Yea...Chris Jackson threw a pass (Prude, I think?) from a few steps inside the endzone.

The fake against Florida. Not only did it come out of nowhere, but the look on Urban Meyer's face was priceless. That ball landed exactly at the line of scrimmage and then bounced str8 up to the kicker ( if u tried this a 1000 times) lol go figure -only Miles.
At first, it seemed without a doubt that it was going to be across the line of scrimmage. And even now when i see that play its hard to believe that it was a legal toss.
But ole Urban with all that first down signalling for the Gators was certainly priceless for me. I wonder if that was the beginning of the so called retirement disease that he incurred a few months later.

Ensminger to Woodley to Alexander. Go to hell Ole Miss.
That design was money. No one around on the wheel route. You'd think no matter the play you would have at least one person checking Alexander the Great.

Uh, that was an actual play...there was no spike motion or even attempt by Flynn.
applaud the effort though.

Just because it hasn't been mentioned:
LSU @ Auburn 2008
Keiland Williams to Demetrius Byrd 22yd TD pass
My favorite was the fake FG against USCe primarily because the look on Spurrier's face afterwards was priceless.

For you youngsters:
In 1969, LSU was 5-0 and playing 6th ranked Auburn at home.
On the first play from scrimmage, QB Mike Hillman tossed to RB Jimmy Gilbert (a QB lined up at RB) who threw a half back pass to a wide open Andy Hamilton for a TD.
Auburn coach Shug Jordan said of Hamilton "Shoot,I was the closest guy to him."

I'm going to throw out LSU vs. Va Tech 2007.
Perilloux enters the game, speed option look (maybe qb load, IDK) out of the shotgun, he pulls up and Early is as open as anyone has ever been in Tiger Stadium. Touchdown. Simple. Effective. Humiliating. Great option pass call.
