They did get a bowl win. The 2012 team was in every game and quite frankly should have beaten Bama and Clemson. Miles' clock management and Tajh Boyd's 4th and 16 conversion cost us that one

That and limiting Jeremy Hill in the 2nd half.

What did we do in 2012 that we have not done since?
....win our last three regular season games.

there's not much context in that article. that was maybe one of the unluckiest LSU teams I've ever seen, def with regard to injuries.
the following guys ended up missing the year/ significant playing time due to injury/ attrition/ academics. most were starters.
Chris Faulk
Williford
Alex Hurst
Alfred Blue
Tahj Jones
Luke Muncie
Kwon Alexander (who took over for Muncie, then broke an ankle)
Nic Jacobs (kicked off team after coming into his own)
so while we had talent, we had personnel issues, and that forced some young guys to play more than what everyone would have liked. the OL was basically musical chairs until settling in with the SC game. 3 different Sam LBs, 2 of whom were true freshmen (that's not counting Tahj, who was supposed to be the starter before his academic issue). really weird year.

Not even the best 10-3 LSU team...that stacked 2001 team was 8-3 in the regular season.
Just off the top of my head:
Defense:
Ryan Clark
Trev Faulk
Damien James
Corey Webster
Eric Alexander
Jarvis Green
Howard Green
Chad Lavalaise
Marcus Spears
Marquise Hill
Kyle Williams
Randall Gay
Offense:
Josh Reed
Michael Clayton
Devery Henderson
Andrew Withworth
Stephen Peterman
Ben Wilkerson
Rohan Davey
Dom Davis
Joseph Addai

That 01 team with 3 losses in a shite sec is mindblowing. Trev faulk and Bradie Jame both garnered all sec accolades in 2001.
The sec west in 2001 finished with 1 ranked team and only 2 teams finished with a conf record above .500,

By the end of the season that lsu team had lost 2 rbs,3 olinemen,2lbs,and TM7 before the season. Most unlucky lsu team ever.

2013 team had a shittier schedule. 2012 barely got by a few bad teams. I'll go with 2013.

Do we really have to re hash this? He runs hill against bama, fans bitch cus they should have thrown. He throws against clemson, fans bitch, should have ran.
BTW, LSU at one point was missing 22 scholarship players that season, 22!!! And if he didn't give a frick about his players, he prob wins the sec in 2012.

You forget that was the year a few players didn't make the grades. With kwon getting hurt we were down 3 or 4 linebackers. Faulk never made the opener, tyrann never made the opener.
It was prob Les best job, most coaches and teams would have crumbled. LSU was in every single game.

2001 LSU Tigers. Come on man.
The team that destroyed Illinois in the Sugar Bowl could have won a national title.
After a rough start, they were awesome down the stretch:
November 3 2:30 PM at Alabama W 35–21 83,818
November 10 7:00 PM Middle Tennessee W 30–14 88,249
November 23 1:30 PM #24 Arkansas W 41–38 89,560
December 1 6:45 PM #25 Auburn #22 W 27-14 92,141
December 8 7:00 PM vs. #2 Tennessee W 31–20 74,843
January 1 7:30 PM vs. #7 Illinois* W 47–34 77,688

Id probably rank 2005 as his best. Having to deal with those hurricanes and to lose 1 game all regular season with no bye week is really commendable.
