How much can you blame the kid for not caring about school when there are reports of him potentially being able to sign a $100 Million endorsement deal?

Of course we all know this is a farce. He's not coming to LSU to get his engineering degree. He's coming to LSU to get warmed up in college basketball before he goes to the NBA. He might as well have gone to Europe for a year and made some money before going to the NBA.

yes, yes you can (blame him). it's called character. not to mention that learning is a good thing and it's not hard to use your mind. it also prevents one from being ignorant.
methinks our society is LAZY. and not into self improvement.

Any chance they push it to a 2 year minimum? This one and done stuff is awful. Good for them, but I can't stand college ball because of it.

How is this fair to the kid? He didn't WANT to go to college, he wanted to go to the NBA like Kobe and Lebron. He was forced to go to college. The NBA forces kids to go to college so they can develop from a basketball standpoint...not academics. Him taking 4 bullshite electives will hardly make him smarter. Not to mention he can't walk on campus without ppl taking pics and shite. His bread and butter is putting a basketball through a hoop...that's all he cares about, and it's all he should care about. Not academics when he will never ever use anything he learns in theater 1001

The problem is the system. You are asking these guys no to care when you only make them go to school for basically one semester. Ben should be getting a check in the NBA right now and not going to class at LSU. Why as a society we seem to need to babysit people when it comes to life decisions. Let them make the decision out of high school and if they fail that is on them. I think the baseball rule is the best. If you wanna go out of high school cool but if you go to college you have to stay til your 21.
