That's a pretty accusatory thing to post with no evidence.

Rice has hit 9 homeruns this season.

Seth Harrison has 8.

Would you rather him lie? The last thing the LSU players need is someone telling them how great they are. Their level of self-entitlement is already at an all time high. They need to realize that just because they are LSU and the players before them were successful, it doesn't mean that they are the best team. They need a reality check. If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at the current coaching staff (not Alan Dunn, he is awesome) for the state of the program. I applaude Ben for calling it as it is, instead of being a homer.

take the sweet spot and shatter it??? logically it seems that it would shatter the sweet spot and make the bat weak, not spread it through out the bat.

also, how did rice buy up all these bats if they are, like to you said, off the market?

I assume they are off the market to the general public not big programs and not sure about the science behind sweet spots.

I like him. He may not be the smoothest talker but he knows what he's talking about.

Apparently UL uses TPX that are off the market. Shatters the sweet spot by beating the crap out of them...Once Rice figured out what they were doing, Rice then bought every bat of that type available to start doing the same thing.

I heard they were using "altered" bats the other day. Apparently some of the players aren't too afraid to talk about it

Exactly^

Also should add that I don't think it's technically "cheating" according to the rule book.

I was told that if you shake their bats it sounds like there is a bunch of shattered glass inside

ETA: And this is a message board, not an article in the newspaper. Isn't most of the accusatory shite said on here done so without any evidence?

Beat LSU, took 2 of 3 from Bama.

I'd say they do pretty well when they face "decent" pitching. Unless, of course, you're saying LSU and Bama don't have decent pitchers.

I heard Rantz on the radio talking about this. I was vaguely paying attention, but he claimed TPX found a way to make a bat that passed BBCore certification, but the more you use the bat the faster the exit speed.

Basically, buy the legal bat with the BBCore stamp and eventually the bat becomes illegal. I don't know the science behind it, but according to Rantz, this is a TPX thing not a ULL thing.

Bro, step away from the ledge. It's his job to be an analyst, not an LSU homer. Doesnt mean he's turning his back on the Tigers, and helps his credibility as a commentator.
Would you really rather him be our version of Lou Holtz?

When I heard McDonald say that, I thought, "Ben, you ignorant slut."

He's not dead to me yet, but he could go at any minute.

Thanks for clarifying a bit. Certainly could be a factor in their bloated offensive stats.
