Just finished crunching the numbers and Oki State needs to get 45.2 % of the second place votes to be in NCG. That relates to .018 delta below the gumps. This assumes they get second in 5 of the 6 computers. Should be real close

OSU needs to be within 52 points of Bama in the Harris if they are #1 in 5 comps.

Your numbers are worthless because Stanford will likely receive #3 votes.

With 4 computers, OSU needs to be ahead of Bama by 5 points in Harris

Bama is in, its just a formality now. We would have to have something way out of left field no one knows about to change that.

What happened to Okie State winning by 3 scores to get in? They mud stopped OU and get slapped in the polls for it. Geezzzzzzzzz. I am lost with this nonsense.

Computer polls didn't get the change that 99.999% of the people thought they would.

Alabama beat low ranked Auburn, got a large jump.
Ok St beat OU (top-10 computers), got about half of what Alabama got.

It happens sometimes -- and that's probably the reason that the formulas behind the polls favoring Bama are kept secret

All it will probably take is OSU being #2 in the Wolfe computer. I have yet to understand why twitter message from someone not-named Peter Wolfe is be taken as fact.

LSU curb stomped UGA, which may have helped Bama in the computers.

yep, OSU picked up ground in the Coaches Poll but not enough. Can't believe there were 4 coaches who voted them 4th

I'll give you a guess for a least two of them.

ha, yeah, no kidding. don't they have to release how coaches voted tomorrow or shortly thereafter? i remember one year a coach voted someone in contention like 20th to help their team's chances, can't remember who it was though

Alabama beat low ranked Auburn, got a large jump.

I noticed that during the broadcast of the Iron Bowl they had the marquee with Auburn ranked 24. Auburn was 7-4 at that point and out of the rankings. I felt they were propping Alabama up by doing this and it still fells that way. It is making their ranking higher.

Man, if Stoops/Saban did that, that'd really be a crying shame.

well they did beat them by 28, and I'm pretty sure they were a unanimous #2 going into that game, unless you're talking about the computer polls.
