Whoever scheduled Northwestern should be shot. They are weighing us down.

LMAO at this poll. Its a joke until week 8 not enough information at this time.

I like how the coley matrix has us only beating one top 25 team lmao!!!!!
Hate to break it to you, but neither WVU nor MS State is one of the 25 best college football teams in America.

Matt, are you going to start publishing your own computer poll like in years past? There are one or two other poster who have their own computer poll as well, huh? I can't remember.

I plan to, but I am very bust these days. I hopefully I will have time for some of that.

Your matrix is pathetic! How can you have LSU at 7 and Illinois at 4? ULL at 30 is even a bigger joke. You don't have the Top 25 wins for LSU correct either. I am astounded that the BCS even uses your matrix! Hopefully the weight it real light! GFY!

Please explain to me what in the mathematical algorithm you specifically disagree with?

LOL. Doubt you will get a response.

The intent of my email wasn't to bash the Computers, but I did incorrectly think LSU would be much stronger in the early computer rankings. I was especially shocked to see ULL ranked so high at #30.

Since Oregon and WVU have each only lost one game, I thought we'd be in the Top 1-3 in all computer polls, but it shows that many other teams have also played teams that may be considered weaker, but haven't lost many games yet.

Computers that just go by wins and losses of their opponents is stupid.

Well since none of the BCS computers do that, we don't have to worry about them being stupid

A&H has Texas' schedule rated tougher than ours. Any system that rates Rice, BYU, UCLA and Iowa State as a tougher schedule than Oregon, NSU, Mississippi State, West Virginia and Kentucky has no business being part of the BCS. I don't care about the argument that these things are always volatile and strange early in the season, there is simply no freaking way that Texas' schedule to this point is anywhere near LSU's, and if the system can't figure that out, even in week 5, then it's worthless.

I don't understand how after all these years, people get all upset about these things and don't understand how they work.

These computers don't include any pre-season bias and with that comes the fact they have no idea (YET) that Oregon and WVU are probably great teams. They haven't beaten anyone themselves that have proven anything. When things get connected, the computers make more sense - and the computers only matter in the last week.

I don't trust any computer poll that DOES make sense at this point, because then it probably has some sort of bias

If you look at the rankings in detail, a lot of it has to do with Miss. St. being a 2-3 team at #77.

Anyway, computer rankings aren't worth much until enough of a sample has been gathered, which just hasn't happened yet.

Nothing in these computer polls make any matter at ALL until every data point is input (at the very end of the season) when the last whistle blows. Looking at them now is like looking at my brother's Jambalya at the beginning when he first dumps all the ingredients in. It's hard to comprehend that it'll come out right.
