I know this doesn't mean anything and LSU controls their own destiny, but some of these early computer rankings are just head scratchers....

Glad they wait until Week 8 for the first BCS Rankings...

Colley Matrix

Anderson and Hester

On a very, very funny note...Colley Matrix has UL-Lafayette ranked #30

As I scrolled down and saw ULL at #30 in Colley Matrix, I almost fell on the floor laughing. It deserved an update to my original post!!

Doesn't really pay to go on the road or play at neutral sites according to the computers. What a joke?

Yeah, because North Texas and Kent State are awesome!

I just don't get how we can be ahead in both polls and have simalar schedules and be that far below. Did Northwestern State hurt us that badly?

colley matrix made no sense at all. The Texas love fest is some serious sports spinning.

It has to do with us playing Northwestern State and beating MSU.

Houton would get destroyed by any top 20 teams. They are ahead of Wisky? Wisconsin would beat Houston 80-20 or thereabouts...

Colley Matrix
Colley is freakin weird. It is geared more toward late season results and always has some odd ranking early to mid season.

ETA:
From what I recall, it starts off all teams even. Then breaks it out by the teams with 1 loss. Then ranks teams that beat another undefeated team over those that beat a 1-loss team. Then, the rankings kinda continue in this manner. It's quite odd.

This Texas high-ranking is the most baffling thing. 4 wins instead of 5 with 2 of 4 against the likes of Rice and Iowa State?

A&H has Texas' schedule rated tougher than ours. Any system that rates Rice, BYU, UCLA and Iowa State as a tougher schedule than Oregon, NSU, Mississippi State, West Virginia and Kentucky has no business being part of the BCS. I don't care about the argument that these things are always volatile and strange early in the season, there is simply no freaking way that Texas' schedule to this point is anywhere near LSU's, and if the system can't figure that out, even in week 5, then it's worthless.

I guess it's based on your opponents won/loss record no matter who they have played.

Hence NWST and Miss St would have hurt LSU, while Houston and Texas are rated highly by beating a bunch of nobodies.
