Ross Dellenger ? @RossDellenger
How much $ does BR stand to lose if #LSU doesnt play USA game? Study in 2014 says area sees $87M-131M boom in 7 home games

Avg: $15M a game

Only 15,000 dollars? That's not too bad, considering.

The studies I've seen show around 8 million a game, but that was 2010.

These economic impact studies are total BS.

Exactly. We can't take this loss all on our own. Florida got insurance money for their lost home game this weekend. SEC has to figure it out so that if we do lose a home game, we don't take the full brunt of the loss.

Pretty much no way to lessen the blow for local BR businesses, though.

I'm just at a complete loss for words that it's actually being considered that LSU lose a home football game because of a natural disaster in another state?

Seriously. Just think about it and figure out how that makes any sense.

Lost in all this is that it is really insulting to treat South Alabama like they are insignificant and disposable. I understand that they play games like this for revenue, but also, those players on that team matter too, and they deserve their opportunity to first of all have a game to play that Saturday, much moreso, to play on a bigger stage like Tiger Stadium and possibly be seen by a scout that wouldn't otherwise be at their game. You know, players from small and D2 schools play in the NFL every week.

Laman1978

Well if the sample size is Zippy's, City Pork, Perrain's and other restaurants on or near the Perkins Rd. overpass strip, then I'd say about half that.

I agree 100%. Plus USA isn't a bad team. Having two losses already, we need EVERY one of those potential eleven wins to have a shot at the playoffs.
