re: Are natural disasters good for the economy? - Grooler
Any measure of an increase in economic activity needs to be net of the damage caused by the natural disaster. A lot of assets were destroyed, which is not good for the economy....

re: Does anyone know where I can watch the 2003 Georgia game? - Grooler
Not sure, but that was one of the best games I've been to at TS. I was in the student section, right in the corner where Skyar Green made his TD catch. That's the quickest I ever heard the stadium go from dead silence to chaotic. What an awesome season. ...

re: Nothing is free. - Grooler
Agree. I've always been in favor of ending professor tenure that locks up potentially expensive and poorly performing individuals for the rest of their careers. Incentive-based teaching, and separation of teaching and research. Just some ideas. ...

re: Nothing is free. - Grooler
I'm not even worried about that. Can you imagine how tuition prices are set if it's "free" to students? If you think healthcare is expensive, just wait till the government finances all of higher education. ...

re: "It's like a 76ers game" - Grooler
FWIW, the RNC was just as bad or worse. Lots of parties and events going on around the city. The actual convention is probably the least entertaining. ...

re: I don't know why some of you guys think Trump is in trouble. - Grooler
Seems to me that people are slowly coming to their senses and realizing the dangers of making him the leader of the free world. By the way, WTF was that oath all about yesterday? Very cult-ish....

re: Why I am voting for Trump - Grooler
I want America to be great again as much as anyone. But the problem with Trump is that we don't know specifics on his policies, and he isn't very willing to discuss them. That is very dangerous. ...

re: Spinoff question from the Rant, re Academics vs Athletics - Grooler
Sure, a handful of hardworking professors produce research. Advising is not work. And after planning a curriculum one time, it might never be updated again for the rest of the instructor's career. If a professor does all 3, I have no problem paying them. But that type of professor is more the except...

re: Spinoff question from the Rant, re Academics vs Athletics - Grooler
Alot of people care about LSU. The problem is that the academic side is horribly mismanaged. As long as tenured professors make cushy 6-figure salaries just to teach two courses each year, I won't support more tax dollars going towards academics. I like that athletics are tied to the university, but...
