For people heading to Houston, just had a friend say that the Basin Bridge going to Lafayette is at a complete stop. Can anyone confirm this?

It's true, right lane is blocked off. It gets clear after that though

In it.

Backed up just after Whiskey Bay exit. We're moving, just slowly.

Google maps showing red for about 4 miles around the Whiskey Bay exit, thats about it. And a small patch after you cross the Port Allen Lock.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully it'll be better by the time I leave around 6.

Just got through Baton Rouge. Any update on the traffic on the bridge. Should we go 190?

They're repairing the exit at Whiskey Bay and have the right lane closed. They have had the signs up for over a week showing the lane will be closed from 7AM - 2PM daily.

whodatdude dropping the knowledge.

Back up is just construction and they are opening the road back to 2 lanes.

The Basin Bridge should have it's own Murphy's Law. If you really want to get somewhere and you have to cross that thing, there will be something or other causing a delay on it.

Many of DOTD employees are attending the game = hence no roadblocks on way....

They have been out there jack-hammering up the concrete of the exit divider for about a week or so now (guy was out there yesterday morning when I passed through; I commute to BR from laffy). As for what they are doing in the middle of the day that they need to close a lane for, I have no idea.
