i'm just checking in on the rankings. holy cow this is crap. there is no reasoning that justifies stanford and nd over lsu. this is a huge problem for lsu because now, lsu needs stanford to beat nd and stanford to lose the pac12 cg. not unlikely but, lsu shouldn't even be concerned about those games. they should be in the rearview mirror. the odds that lsu jumps a 1 loss stanford or nd are slim to none.

I couldn't agree with you more. No way should a team that places third in their conference be picked to compete for a national championship. If the playoffs were expanded to 8 teams or more then maybe it would be justified. But not with just 4 teams or the old BCS system.
