Baseball Team has no big hitters. Is coach recruiting small ball hitters only?

You don't see other teams like Lsu without a few power hitters 6ft 4 and 250 lbs and can hit 14 to 20 hrs a season.

Will CPM go back to recruit gorilla ball players with the newer baseball's?

UCLA won a ship w/o big hitters.

unfortunately, Omaha did away with big hitters.

sucks, but true. I think they should bring the fences in a bit.

no sir...gorilla ball is gone. big parks and soft bats have made small ball the only way to win...

You clearly didn't see that Ruthian blast that Jake Fraley crushed in the first inning last night.

Kind of hard to square up 1st round picks at the end of the season. They hit 2 HRs last night. What's your point?

Maneri recruits atheletes, lots of Shortstops because they can be moved around as they are usually the best player on their HS team.. With today's game, I can't think of any reason to soly recruit a power guy unless he's s position of need out of juco.

Small ball is the game de jour. It might change in the future, but CPM knows how things are these days. We tried gorilla ball in the new stadium and bats, and it didn't work, so we adjusted.

Having said that, knowing and executing are two different things. CPM and staff seem to be making better adjustments, but the old mentality is still hanging around late in games, even if the players are there to execute small ball wins.

It sucks as a LSU fan to see small ball dominate the league, but it can win if executed with the right guys.

The bats are not as live and the parks are bigger. Maneri favors building on contact hitters with speed.

Guess you haven't seen Fraley or Deichmann at the plate this season.

Come on, man.

Deichmann hit a moon shot in the SEC Tournament....then went opposite field last night...doesn't have to be HGH 250lbs...he's 6'-2" and near 200 lbs...nothing wrong with that

Fraley's shot last night went past all the bleachers inRF & bounced off gaurd-tarp

Romero has some power

The Jordan twins can blast it from time to time

Remember when UCLA beat one of the great Tiger teams a couple seasons ago in the new ballpark in Omaha. Coach is building his team to win in Omaha.
