It'd really lift the team's spirits if there was a big crowd waiting for them when they return home!

GEAUX!

Wish I could help, but I only support winners, not losers.
In all honesty, I think this team had a great season, and if I had some free time, I'd probably go out there just to show my appreciation.

Would they score some runs if people showed up?

Do you think you're clever? God forbid we try to lift the spirits of the players that we all "support".

Get a life. You aren't cool by making jokes about LSU losing. It may make you feel better about yourself I guess, but this thread wasn't the place for it. There are plenty of other ones where you can prop up your ego and self-esteem.

I took my son out to the Old Box to meet the 2008 team when they came back from Omaha. That day has so many special memories for him. He is 15 now and just told me that we need to do the same thing again now because this team was such a fun team to watch and they really need their fans now.

I am thankful for this group of Tigers, not just for the brand of baseball they played, but for the life lessons they have helped their youngest fans to appreciate and understand.

the team did have an year but in all honesty, do people REALLY think the players "love" having fans there when they arrive? especially after going out like they did?

i can see them getting excited driving up and seeing fans after winning the title but if im those guys today, im just ready to get off the bus, get in my car and go home and get back to a normal college life. if its me, im going out tonight and forgetting the last few days and having fun before summer ball.

with that said, to whoever goes to greet them, more power to you!

I have one, thanks. That may account for the reason that I don't totally melt down when LSU loses a couple of baseball games. It may also have something to do with the fact that I don't act like a smug, sanctimonious prick with a holier-than-thou attitude when people kid around on the internet.

Look, it's cool that you want to go show support for the team. It's cool that you make a thread about it. It's not cool to act like you are somehow god's gift to the LSU fanbase and that if people do not take everything relating to LSU sports as seriously as you they are commiting some sacrilege. Your mileage may vary.
