He is incorrectly assuming that since we don't have a Mitchell or Mahtook it means we don't have anyone "fast enough to steal bases".

So your point is Mahtook is a better base stealer than any current player?

We don't have a lot of steals. I give you that. However, you are a god damn moron. We run a lot more hit and run. And we steal when needed. Too Many teams out there get caught stealing because they steal at the most obvious of times. To say we don't have speed is your way of either trolling or a basketball fan that needs to stay away from the diamond. We have the fastest outfield in the nation.

And Mitchell...

There is more to base-stealing than speed...technique...instinct...some can be coached.

Base-stealing is one of the least important uses of speed in baseball at any rate.

But in your subject line your point was we lack speed. So which is it?

And some steals are because teams don't execute hit and runs very well. Even in 2009, we struggled with that. So to make up for that, you steal more. We are smarter and more efficient on the base paths now. And come SEC, we will be running more.

It's more important in this .250 hitting team winning the cws game we have than it was in the past.

Bregman, Laird and Stevenson should all hit 20 SBs this year

I doubt anyone steals 20. He just doesn't like to straight steal that much.

Bregman & Stevenson are both on pace for 22 SB a piece if we play as many games as we did last year.
