Yep. LSU should not be ranked this high. Not close. They have to earn it on the field.

I tend to agree, but I do have some solace that Arkansas last year had one pitcher and they were number 1 basically the whole season.

They just said they are not sure about the pitching and while they did have those three ahead of LSU they still thought they were a top 10 team. It’s just the SEC and SEC West is insane.

Their new LF will be their 4th OF from last year, I think.
They lost most of their infield. Their first baseman is back though. He's the last guy on the roster that pre-dates Vitello being there. I think he's like 40.
Their new infield will be a lot of JC transfers.
They return Blade Tidwell and added a couple big time portal arms.
They're less proven than last year, but they still have a lot of upside. They're replacing like 4 or 5 starters but some of the replacements were part time starters before and some of them are highly touted JUCO guys.
They had picked up a catcher in the portal, but I heard the team leaders (players) weren't thrilled with his work ethic in the fall and he's not on the roster anymore. That's why the LF/DH (the one that hit 6 HRs in two games against us and Vandy) is now at Catcher. He's a 5th year guy that bleeds orange and will do whatever to help the team win.

This team will hurt people. I’m the most excited about the prospect of winning a championship THIS year more than any other sport on campus - male or female. Although, mens track could present a strong challenge again even without JaVaughn Harrison. Burrell will be the next great sprinter. Watch out for Hilton making improvements in the high jump this season. I don’t think he will get to being a serious threat, but he has the ability to go over 7’0 consistently given a year in college.
One comment on Hilton is you better watch out when he gets a little more physical because he will high point the ball and make DBs look silly if his QB and him can ever get in sync.

I’m happy for the ranking but surprised after losing a couple of weekend starting pitchers to the draft we would be ranked this high.

It’s the least relevant poll among polls that are all irrelevant to begin with. Honestly, they shouldn’t release the first one till April.
