How many times were we ranked in the top 5 over the past 10 years and did nothing.. I’m excited to think it will actually reflect this year and the talent we have. Johnson gives me hope, PM was a headache.

That LSU Texas game at Minute Maid early in the year is going to be fun!! Can't wait for it. Got 10 of us already committed to go.

That poll has the worst SEC bias out there and they don’t really try to hide it.

If the starting pitching is just decent then this team will be very good to great. They will definitely hit and I think the back end of the bullpen will be good.

3 is pretty aggressive considering we really only have one pitcher that's proven he can get through an SEC lineup more than once.

A lot of pitching by committee but the offense will be good enough to overcome the pitching concerns

The ranking is a little surprising to me. That ranking might be a little high without dominant pitchers. I believe we have a lot of very good pitchers but I'm not seeing anyone that is dominant. That will have to wait until 2023 season. We should have enough depth to make it work, but it is a weakness.

Offensively we should rake. Crews and Berry are simply two of the best hitters in baseball. There are a lot of good hitters on the team and Johnson will only make them better.

Defensively we should have an adequate outfield and a very good infield. Merrifield was a big addition in my opinion. Morgan and Milazzo are top notch defensively. Doughty has looked great and I'm a big believer in Thompson.

I also believe that the coaching staff's attitude, energy and preparedness will be the difference in some tight games.

Milazzo is going to have to hit this season to keep his spot in the lineup.

I truly expect Thompson to have a breakout season this year. He showed flashes last year but with Johnson working with him to take some swing and miss out of his game he could be dangerous.

Did Tennessee lose that much talent from last year's team?
