if we are at least close to where we were last year i think we should be fine. our pitching may not be as strong as it was last year so if we want to share the same level of success we will probably need to be at least on the same level.

then again its all speculation at this point.

to actually answer the question: yeah i think were going to have a great offense. hopefully we will also be consistenly good

If Watkins is as good as advertised I think it will be better. A great leadoff man can make a HUGE difference.

The lead off batter is soooo important as it sets the tone in a game more often than not. As a senior in HS my kid had earned the lead off spot and produced with 42 RBIs, .407, 16 doubles, 1 HR, only 7 Ks in 108 at bats all with a 150 pound arse. He loved it and set the tone many, many times. He hit great pitching better than some crap thrown up there. If your lead off batter can get it going with the other teams best pitchers it gets the other batters minds straight. Watkins can do eeeeeeet!!!!

pitching will be solid. Ranaudo has the tools to be better than Coleman ever was. If A Ross can get his curve to bite rather than hangin em up he'll be solid. Matulis will be a decent Sunday guy. Ott to bring em home.

If watkins is as good as advertised and Leon can start hitting we'll be nasty at the plate.

Looks good on paper. Gonna be a big year for the baseball tigers!

i think it's a better contact lineup than last year. leon will have to be a more consistent prescence. should get some nice looks in between watkins and dean. can also sneak a bunch of infield singles. i like his chances there. i think every kid in the lineup should be around .300. a great contact lineup allows you to take a alot of chances with hit and runs to get a guy from 1st to 3rd or home in the gap and steals because you are not worried about taking strikes as much.

You bring up a good point. Helenihi and Mitchell before he warmed up were MAJOR strikeout threats everytime they came up to the plate. Both Delatte and Watkins are better contact hitters even though for Mitchell's sake he was a first rounder

Gibbs is going to get a few bombs this year. Dudes swing is powerful.
