Having to rely on

Umm the band can't compete with the PA system and that obnoxiously loud crap they feel compelled to blare out the whole game. It's almost to the point I don;t want to go anymore if I have to keep listening to that shite.

I have been talking about this for weeks. Absolutely nothing they do is exceptional when you compare them to other bands. The entire program is stale and mundane. I wish our director had the slightest bit of creativity.

The Million Dollar Band has been terrible for a decade or more. Last year in Tuscaloosa, I couldn't believe my eyes at how utterly poor their entire presence and aura were. They were very high schoolish. This was partly due to the fact that the idiots at BDS have turned Bama's game atmosphere into an NBA game atmosphere(much like the path Death Valley is on). In BDS, the MDB has been made mostly irrelevant.

However, I was completely embarrassed for TGBFTL last night because the MDB was much better at half time (even though they still sucked).

I'm sorry that your nephew didn't get to experience the band with Wickes as director. That man put his heart and soul into his job, and continued the proud tradition of the band.

People can say this doesn't matter and make band nerd comments all they want. But the one thing that is as much a part of the LSU tradition as everything else was that LSU historically always had a very strong nationally recognized marching band. Even in the horrible decade under Archer and Hallman, LSU's band was always among the best in the SEC.

LSU stole Frank from Florida, Maybe they can steal another one and let Roy King go be what he wants to be, a high school band director. I've seen and heard high school bands that are better than LSU's current band.

The band is a shell of its former self. And it's former self wasn't all that either.

Bamas band owned them. Having to rely on piped in music to get the crowd goin?

I don't know what game you went to if you went to the game. It was so f'n loud all game nobody had to get the crowd going.

I am still trying to figure out who got the whole NEZ chanting "F__K you Saban!" It originated in the Student Section.

I never even heard Bama's Band until the OT was over.

The band really missed some opportunities to hype up the crowd last night; mainly during overtime.

It was sad hearing the gump band pumping up their fans, then looking over and seeing the tiger band just sitting there. Granted, the piped in music doesnt help, but it was still sad.

Its the last game of the season, could I get a little Neck to pump up the crowd for overtime?

They're not here because nobody is criticizing the kids. The kids are just out there doing what they're directed to do.

Hey guys, slow your roll on the alma mater. The band never plays it after a loss. This is nothing new.

I thought the band did well in the 4th. They were playing a lot of music to get the crowd going. Admittedly they were a little quiet during over time but there wasn't much room to play to be honest. The first play was for a long pass and the momentum was on their side.

It's o.k., his mom (my sister) had that pleasure from 79 to 83.

It was crazy that in the last 5;00 of the game and OT they did play the fight song once, but mostly they were playing those random time filler pop songs that does nothing for the crowd. The students were cussing anyway, so they might as well have played neck. The band thruly has been pathetic and the blame is not all on the student section and their language. They need to get rid of whoever that band director is

There is no doubt that the band has regressed over the past several years--and it really started to show this year. They barely played any 'pop' songs either like they used to. No Separated, no All I Do Is Win, no Poker Face...nothing. Roy King should be embarrassed.
