This fan base can be so petty and sad. Everybody was beating their chest chanting SEC when we won the 2007 Championship and beat Bama for the 5th straight year. LSU isn't going anywhere.

I understand your frustration.
Whether we play them every year, or (just) meet them in the CFP, we still have to deal with them if we want to be the best.
All we can do is strive for improvement.
Edit: "just".

We're stuck in the SEC for now. The money is too good. But in the next major realignment we should be looking at forming another superconference whose geographic center is not the state of Alabama.
This right here!!!

Or hold officiating crews accountable. Everyone else is accountable for their actions.
If the league office is supposed to be this "neutral body" and review all calls, then do it.
No, I don't think the officiating cost us the game but I do think the officiating was horrendous.
Fine them or something, coaches get find when they flip out, why are the officials untouchable?

Glad I'm not the only one questioning why Birmingham is the center of the SEC for football, baseball and to a lesser extent basketball.

I agree with what you're saying. But when you're playing against Bama and the refs year in and year out, it gets old...

If the Big 12 collapses in a few years, maybe lure a few of their decent schools plus southern ACC schools and make a new conference....with Louisiana as the geographic center and league office in NOLA.

Only real way to get away from the gumps is for everyone else to form a new conference without Alabama.
^ Louisville has already expressed an interest in joining

This thread is so ridiculous.
Do you actually believe it's the refs' fault you lost the game?
It was tied going into the fricking 4th quarter despite a huge discrepancy in total yards. Alabama was simply a much better team, and LSU was lucky it was so close.
As for the refs, the refs are human. They will always miss calls, and be inconsistent.
Some of the most poorly officiated games I've seen have been with out of conference refs. The SEC actually has great officiating compared to other conferences. Only one of our games this season had bad officiating (the Arkansas game).
Bad calls will always be part of the game, and the only team who bitches about it is the losing team. Games that have truly bad officiating will be mutually agreed upon by both sides. I thought the LSU game was called pretty well.
Put it this way, Alabama leads the country in sacks, yet their opponents have the fewest holding calls against them in the country. How the frick does that add up? Just sayin.. it goes both ways

LSU fans would just bitch that Ohio State gets all the calls. It's what you people do.

No. Alabama outplayed LSU, but if the refs don't miss 3 holding calls on the same play, LSU would never have been down 2 scores, so who knows how it changes things at the end. Then all it takes is one play to possibly win.
But in close games, it always seems as if the crucial blown call goes Alabama's way.
Plus 2 years ago there was some very questionable non-calls for defensive PI late and in OT, and also the questionable personal foul against LSU when they were at the 5 yd line going for possibly clinching TD.

Instead of settling for ED ORGERON, who would not get a INTERVIEW from any major big-time program, go out and hire the BEST AVAILABLE HEAD COACH in America! The " he is one of us" people will get what you ask for if he is hired and the excuses will stay the same and larger and larger! NicK Saban was from where and there was crying back then about Alabama!

It's only the crucial blown call because Alabama wins.
If Alabama had lost against LSU, I'm sure there were any number of blown calls we could've pointed to as the "crucial blown call"

Because none of you cried when Reed took the ball from your TE in 2010. Plain and simple, we didn't control the offensive line of scrimmage and lost but the refs made sure we never had any momentum by making a big play or ever got the calls which we deserved but hurt Bama. It's become standard practice for the refs to sway the momentum or to blatantly miss a call. They also let Bama play rougher than they allow the opponent to play against them
