I said it in another post, when Texas started thinking they were more important than the conference the other schools showed them they weren't. They lost two high profile schools from the conference and suffered a blow to their reputation that took a little while to overcome. OU was the only friendly rival who supported them. Most of the refs were residents of Texas and Oklahoma the same way most are from Alabama in the SEC. This is Bama and Auburn today, it's time to take a stand.

Only problem is that the schools who left, went to a better conference.

I'd be fine with LSU going to Big 10. That'd be a cool change. Would be best if officiating was simply done at a national level so at least there'd be the appearance of fairness.

I like the idea of centralizing the officiating

Not much in the way of alternatives for us.

The XII would be out of the frying pan and into the fire.

The B1G isn't taking us. Low academic profile, not contiguous to current territory, not that many TV sets. They'll take SJWU first. Even Vanderbilt is a better fit.

Maybe the ACC but we would be a geographic outlier.

Only real way to get away from the gumps is for everyone else to form a new conference without Alabama.

Right, have officiating under a national umbrella where they're all trained and regulated the same. Maybe not financially feasible to have professional refs, I dunno.

We're stuck in the SEC for now. The money is too good. But in the next major realignment we should be looking at forming another superconference whose geographic center is not the state of Alabama.

Quitting is for *ussies. We have to get better and beat their @ss. There is no other option. LSU isn't going to pull an Urban Meyer and fake its way out of the SEC just because Saban is at Bama. It's called competition. You don't get better by chasing lesser opponents , you progress by playing and beating the best. We gotta man up, not run and hide.

So we should look west? Because Alabama is pretty squarely in the middle of the southeast, and I don't think it's moving for a while. We're an original SEC school, we're not going anywhere. Ever.

If the NCAA would take over the officiating I would be satisfied. Rotate the replay refs in the home office rather than having the same guy who has earned a reputation for making bad calls do it for the conference. Eliminate refs from either school's home state or with any apparent bias from working any NCAA Power 5 game. Make the schools, who are earning millions, pay any additional cost. If a school wants the money which comes from being part of a Power 5 conference then it is a cost of doing business. The players who work their tails off deserve it.

We still bitching about the refs?

WE DIDN'T SCORE ANY POINTS!

We're ya'll all just hoping to hold Bama scoreless into OT and hope they'd miss another short field goal and we'd win 3-0? Because that's about the only chance we had of scoring points.

It's not about declining, Texas had a superiority complex and they weren't excelling at the time. Bama has acted like they ruled the SEC for as long as I can remember and they have always been good. However, if they can be allowed to take cheap shots then always get the benefit of the doubt when the roles are reversed then something has gone awry.

We have a beastly defense.

We will fix the OL and QB issues over the course of next year, and in 2018 we will BALL OUT.

Patience.

In case you didn't watch, Bama got very physical with the Ags and the Ags attempted to step up in a close game. The refs booted an Ag player and called everything against them while continuing to allow the gumps to pound them. Anything sounding familiar?

It's not about Bama's team or coaches, it's the treatment they get from the Ref's. Like Coach O said he want's some clarification on the non-calls against Bama and the calls against us. I hate when the Ref's take the game away from the players who played so hard and take the game from the players by allowing non-penalties and calling bad penalties just because it's Bama. Maybe the outcome would have been then same, but I would pissed if I were the LSU players and Coaches when the Ref's decide the game...

If anyone should leave the SEC it's Bama. They don't deserve everything they have done. Half of it was given to them weekend and week out.

Problem is that LSU takes a revenue cut to go anywhere else. Big Ten wouldnt be a geographical fit. Big 12 has too much instability and may not even be around in 8-10 years. Even in ACC we wouldnt really be a geographical fit.

SEC is best place for us. But would like to see the officiating taken out of hands of individual conferences and have the officials centrally run by NCAA

yeah that tough guy talk is great, but bama cheats their arse off, in every way imaginable, they buy players, they buy signals, they control the rules and the refs. its a 100 meter dash and they start at the 20. we cant just say "well frick it, I'll run faster". that wont help, because thats not the problem.
