That's what I'm wondering. I didn't hear of a coach with a drug problem getting canned yet this year.

the legend of austin thomas continues to grow....

Look I think he is good at what he does. But the reaction to his departure and now return seems a little extreme.

To be fair, we lost the guy that was rated as the tops in his field, and then subsequently hired the guy rated as the tops in his field.

In the interim, we also hired a guy away from Mississippi State. So we've done what so many have been wanting us to in expanding the recruiting support staff.

Thomas is literally one of the best in business and has the accolades to back that up. It's a very important role when a guy like this can directly impact what recruits seriously consider you and do not. He was one of the main reasons we had 5-star JaCoby Stevens when we did.

perhaps but I think some of the "OMMMMMG" folks are simply regurgitating that they've heard he's good vs. actually knowing just what in the frick he actually does.

I honestly have no opinion on his abilities--I,didn't even know of his existence until he left. Just find it curious he was only at S.C. For three months. Especially considering he had already worked there for a year previously. So it wouldn't have been a culture shock. Maybe him and Swann didn't get along.

I do agree that leaving USC after only 3 months raises some concerns. But it could be an issue of him being promised one thing and then actually getting something else in relation to his work responsibilities.
