Dude, RNA vaccines are showing to be so much more effective, safe, and quick to create/adapt for different strains that pretty much every pharma company that does not already have the tech is racing to develop it.
We have had research in to mRNA back further than 1989, animal trials as far back as 1993, human trials for mRNA vaccines since 2001(showing promise in fighting cancer), and companies like Moderna have been developing rabies, zika, and influenza vaccines that were moving towards taking the place of traditional ones before the research was redirected and accelerated for the current crisis.
The tech is so good, you are likely going to see the entire industry switch to it for all inoculations within the decade.
Of course for now if you are concerned you still have options... so it is not an excuse. The Johnson and Johnson COVID vaccine is not a mRNA vaccine, but rather a traditional one. It is not nearly as effective, or safe, but it is something.

Unfortunately not. Will be out of the country. Enjoy the game.

We will see in a few years who the dumb ones are bro. Real vaccines are good. When the long term effects start happening, you will see these covid "vaccines" are not good at all.
Just out of curiosity, why do you think this is the vaccine that is finally the one that fricks everyone up? Like what are you basing that on other than that it was released under Biden's presidency (even though it was developed under Trump's)?

There are still plenty of tickets available directly from LSU. Don't recall that being the case in a long time for any major SEC opponent 4 days before the game.

Who says people aren't going to be up for the game? Maybe folks don't want to get tested or take the jab in order to sit in tiger stadium.

People scared of a little shot or nasal swab wouldn’t be rowdy or loud at the game anyway.

None of my invitees turned this one down. It should be live in the stadium.

Yet you’ll give that politically driven social experiment your tradition fund money and money for individual tickets.
If you really wanted to make a statement, you would give up your tickets.

The uppers will be sparse.
I think after this game people will finally realize that LSU has an attendance issue. A lot of folks have made a lot of excuses for why the stadium was so empty for the first two games.
Tiger Stadium won’t be anywhere close to capacity on Saturday.

Perfect weather, 8 pm kickoff, Auburn, ex-LSU QB starting, we actually have a chance because they suck too.
I think it'll be packed and loud.

To beat it we dont have to give up any freedoms, just make choices that show we give a damn about our friends, neighbors, and countrymen... and that we can practice critical thinking when evaluating information and its sources.
quote:I don't either, but you seem to exemplify all of them. And so is anyone else willing to give up freedom and liberty for our country so that they might attend a football game. That's about as selfish, obtuse, spoiled and obstinate as it gets.
Selfish, obtuse, spoiled, and obstinate... i dont like that these words have become defining traits of our nation.

Auburn is not a “major SEC opponent” they should have lost to Georgia State. You act like a top ten Auburn team is coming to town. If it’s not 100K it’ll be mid 90s

quote:Yes he is. What Auburn does plays into LSU's strengths and that is to get after the QB. Finley is not a runner, and Auburn doesn't run an air raid. They will be coming for Finley all game.
You serious Clark ?????

We always exhibited a certain amount of caution. I have four beautiful girls. One of them was born with Down Syndrome as well as some other disabilities (physical disability in the left hand, hole in the heart, etc). Part of Down Syndrome often includes a weakened immune system and higher risk of respiratory and circulatory complications to illness (smaller air passageways and veins/arteries). My daughter had a very serious bout of pneumonia at 6 months old (spent two solid weeks in children's hospital on oxygen) and then had open heart surgery at 7 months old (she's 13 now) to repair the hole in her heart that she had from birth. Following that surgery, we were advised to do basically everything you see people being asked to do now. Any visitors to our house for a period of time after that wore masks and we had hand sanitizer out all over the place. We were taking Covid-level precautions back in 2009 lol.
Over the years, as she strengthened and we got more comfortable, we definitely lightened up. The masks were only really necessary for a few months after her surgery. We always have stayed on top of sanitization and cleanliness with her and her sisters as best as we can, though. We also made sure that we and our kids always got our flu shots, and we work with all of her doctors very quickly any time there are respiratory issues. We also have naturally practiced distancing from sick friends and families until they're healthy.
Covid definitely brought us back to a higher level of caution and care, but hopefully we will be able to relax again a bit once things calm down. I just wish more people realized that there are families who have had to live like this for a long time because of health concerns and just asking everyone to wear a mask for the health and, in some cases literally survival, of their friends and neighbors shouldn't be a huge ask. Shots are a bigger ask, I know, but hopefully in the long run people realize the value of the vaccine.
