I know the baseball team is having a bad year with injuries and pitching, but since Alleva has been here I have seen a decline in LSU athletics as a whole, or have our expectations reached a level that can't be sustained?

I think its him. He is from Duke. The bar is set alot lower overthere in terms of what is satisfactory

FTR, he didn't hire Les or Mainieri and I think Trent is the best coach of the 3.

and you should. It's retarded to suggest that Alleva has caused any kind of decline in our athletic program.

There's nothing he has done in terms of hiring that has been a bad move at all. I don't see how you can blame any struggles our teams have had on him. He didn't hire Les, Mainieri is probably the best in the business, and Trent is one of the best coaches in the SEC.

The only coached he has hired (in the real sports) has been Trent. Trent has won a SEC Championship in his 2 years.

I dont post on here enough to really care anymore, but my neighbor who is a big contributing alumni has not been happy with him and he is given him a year before he starts to get very angry, I just never thought he was a good fit for the school athletic wise, maybe academic, but that does not bring the money into LSU

What exactly has Alleva done exactly that is responsible for the decline? Isn't Trent Johnson the only coach of a major sport that he has hired?

Im with you, I think Alleva is a yutz. I kept asking in other threads that if Les was as bad as most on here say then WTF is the AD doing. Of course there was just more Les bashing

we won a championship in baseball last year. we lost a lot of great players from that team who got us there so we gonna slip up some time. And basketball we lost thornton, temple and jackson. and in football we have started young inexperienced qbs the last 2 years. your an idiot

Please elaborate. In other words, what has he done that is not good or great?

The only program that deserves the criticism is football. Alleva didn't hire Miles.

Sorry Stevo, I just disagree- I do not think it is a coincidence that most of our money-making sports are not performing where they should be- I think we should all be concerned. I have wondered why we hired Alleva in the first place when there were more experienced LSU people in line wanting the job.

your neighbor sounds very important, as do you by extension since you know your very important neighbor.

that's why I presented two sides to the argument, what I get from him is a lack intensity that Skip had, but at the same time I think my expectations have been spoiled, I really didn't agree with my neighbor.
