But is there ANY way we can replace big sam, keke, and eric reid?

If we only lose those 3, we should be okay. I'm worried about losing Logan and Minter too. We have some quality LB's waiting, but Minter is special.

The LSU defense will be one of the top ranked D's nationally regardless of who leaves. Barring some big breakdown among the coaching staff, there's no way all of our studs leave early. Reid, Mingo, Sam, etc. can be replaced.

USC was a media fantasy. Their last season was not that particularly impressive. They had one decent win over Oregon on the road, outside of that they looked completely mediocre and got BLOWN OUT by Arizona State.

They also were lacking depth all over the field due to the probation.

To anyone sane and objective, USC was a marginal top 10 team at best.

However the media DESPERATELY wanted USC to be good. They were sick of the SEC and USC has always been a media darling. They saw what they wanted to see.

USC could easily finish the year with 5 losses and unranked.

I'm far from panicking, but Kiffin needs to fire his Dad and hire an OC. There's still a lot to play for, and although the defense was atrocious against Oregon, if SC wins out we get another shot at the Ducks. There's not another team in CF that can hang 51 points on Oregon. So quit listening to the media and the nega-Trojans. When USC is firing on all cylinders we are a very difficult team to beat.

When you get depressed about our 10-2 season, just think about formerly 8th ranked ARK-Kansas!

I'm guessing that West Virginia, FSU, LA Tech, Texas A&M, Kansas State and Clemson could ALL hang 51 on Oregon. A Sun Belt team (Arkansas State) score 34 against them. Hell...LSU was #86 in the nation in total offense last year and we scored 40 against them. The trick is having a horseshite defense like USC giving up long TD's and 80 yard scoring drives that consume less than 3 minutes off the clock.

Try again. Your offense scored how many points on them?

We scored 40. Our defense gave up 335 yards.

Oregon scoring drives against LSU (2011)
12 plays 39 yards 4:14 FG
3 plays 7 yards 0:30 FG
19 plays 79 yards 7:41 TD
13 plays 68 yards 4:53 TD
10 plays 70 yards 2:39 TD

Oregon scoring drives against USC (2012)
5 plays 75 yards 1:05 TD
9 plays 71 yards 3:11 TD
10 plays 80 yards 2:38 TD
10 plays 88 yards 3:02 TD
3 plays 81 yards 0:50 TD
13 plays 75 yards 4:45 TD
4 plays 74 yards 1:06 TD
12 plays 85 yards 4:56 TD
3 plays 20 yards 1:02 TD

Just out of curiosity, how many points do do you think we would have scored if we gave up 730 yards like USC did Saturday?

The media did this to them. The only reason this was supposed to be their "year" was because the media gets so desperate to put the likes of Notre Dame and USC on a pedestal for a yearly circle jerk. USC bought into the hype campaign and couldn't even "Fight On" out of a wet paper bag. They deserve that douche of a coach.

Now that we know Mett can make the throws, im excited. doesnt mean he will pass for 300yds a game here on out, but we all see what it could be like. Wrs still have problems, we really need to get leslie, rumph or RSJ here next year.

I still like our chances of winning out and possibly getting a sugar bowl. So im still excited to see if we can finish strong before i go full into next year.

Wrong answer. Your offense scored 31 points against Oregon. Check your facts.

Your offense managed 4 TD's against a weaker Oregon team than USC faced on Saturday. Oregon is a LOT better with Mariota at the helm.

USC managed 7 TD's against a BETTER Oregon defense.

NO excuses for USC's defensive scheme against the Ducks, but LSU's performance on offense if you are comparing apples to apples comes up WAY short.

Forget USC, I think LSU has a dominating team, would probably tear up everone this year, just like last season, but we just have to face the fact that Bama has also built a dynasty. USC is a 'media' team, they read too many of their own press clippings. What ever made them think Lame Kitten was the answer?? For all his prime recruits, you still have to coach them up & have proper game plans. Always hated that little weasel..

Yep. I know a lot of USC fans and they were near unbearable at the beginning of the year, talking about how Barkley was basically Peyton Manning and how their passing game and defense were as good as NFL teams.

Now they pretty much all want Kiffin gone at the end of the year. They could very likely finish with 5 losses this year and next year doesn't look very promising at all.

USC fans know Barkley is flawed. USC fans that understand the impact of NCAA sanctions when we got hit knew that we were in for a world of hurt for a few years. Honestly though, I never bought into the "team of destiny" shite the media was pumping out. I figured we would lose 2, and get to a BCS bowl, and that would be a great season. We've lost three and could lose two more, realistically. We could just as easily win out and get to a BCS bowl. Call me crazy, but I am enjoying the hell out of this season. Ups and downs are just part of CF, for non-bandwagon fans.
