Wrong answer. Your offense scored 31 points against Oregon. Check your facts.

Your offense managed 4 TD's against a weaker Oregon team than USC faced on Saturday. Oregon is a LOT better with Mariota at the helm.

USC managed 7 TD's against a BETTER Oregon defense.

Oh yeah.....much better, only giving up 381 YPG compared to last years 391 YPG. So if Tyrann Mathieu falls on a fumble instead of scoring our offense gets credit for 5 TDs? If Marquise Lee goes the distance instead 82 yards on a KO return your offense only scores 6 TD's? Give me a break. That's convenient but you are comparing apples to oranges. Barkley was slinging it downfield from the start playing catch up while LSU is content work the clock to shorten the game and they are nursing a 20-point lead less than a minute into the 4th quarter.

Dude, have you even watched an Oregon game?

Their starters (offense AND defense) rarely play in the 3rd Qtr, because they're blowing every one out.

The one exception? USC.

i love to hate USCw as much as anyone, but i thought the early season hype was definitely just that. i have come to grips with USCw being a media darling. why wouldn't they be? they are the hometown team for many who control the media outlets.

the thing is, i don't think people realize just how drastic the NCAA sanctions were. here we are at LSU worried about getting JUST 25 new recruits after reductions from previous years, and USC is dealing with getting only FIFTEEN! seriously. their class is almost full at present with 13-14 commits following the recent de-commit.

how on earth can you create any sort of depth with only 15 scholarships? i think some people realize that, but it has been largely overlooked. it's just a DEVASTATING punishment. granted, they've got way more 5-star guys than anyone else, but i am more convinced than ever now that 5-stars in HS doesn't necessarily translate to college. how many examples do you need? Hester, Claiborne, Mathieu, Jalen Mills?

although USC is my LEAST favorite team (it's wrapped up in the liberal media bias, nothing personal against the school), one thing is certain...USC will be a power once again. just like Florida. I knew when Florida was sucking wind it would only be a matter of time. You will never keep those guys down and you will never keep USC down....not for any extended period. it would take an SMU or Penn State type of disaster to keep USC on the floor.

When did the argument become about the Oregon offense? And tell me if them blowing people out is something new this year. Actually I hate watching Oregon play. They have a few track stars that can dominate until they have to deal with SEC speed. I'd rather watch big boy football. Good luck in the Bridgepoint Education Holiday Bowl.

So, who said USC was supposed to be worth a shite? The dumbass media. They havent proven anyhting on the field. Unreasonably high expectations.

They have some talent but zero depth due to limited schollys...

LSU on the other hand... returning an awsome O line, Dline, and stable of running backs, and a QB with an arm. We should be better than we were last year. unfortunately it may have taken the offense a little too long to take the training wheels off.

It's about the "big numbers" allowed by Oregon's defense. The stats are skewed because they bench the starters on D in the second half.

It ain't rocket surgery. Regarding our Bowl prospects, they're about as good as yours right now.

'SPLAIN THAT!

We are ranked #7 in the BCS behind UF and UGA. No way UGA beats Bama in the SEC Championship game and the smart money is on FSU against UF in Tallahassee. Meanwhile we get a MSU team in Tiger Stadium that has lost their last 2 by games by a combined 56 points.....a another home game against hapless Ole Miss and then the train wreck that is Arkansas.

USC is #19 and still has #18 UCLA and #4 Notre Dame on it's schedule....and if you happen to beat UCLA you get to have your arse kicked by Oregon again.

I'm glad you like your chances but you gotta be kidding me.

Both offense and defense have the potential to be better next season, but will take a wait and see approach. I think I am done with the highest of high expectations.

Easy. You'll have to win out to get to a BCS bowl, and so will we.

I agree that LSU has a softer remaining schedule than USC does, but don't think we can't win out.
It's absolutely plausible.

We put 51 on Oregon, and were a couple of mistakes away from beating them. It's not far fetched to think we can beat them at Autzen, just like we did last season.

plus USC just got a decommit from their "QB" of the future, or who they thought was the future QB while LSU's QB of the future is modeling his LSU jersey for all to see

Dude, check yourself.

Max Redfield is a Safety from Mission Viejo, CA.

Max Browne is our QB commit from Washington, and he's solid.

Edit: LSU's QB of the future is taking his chest to Notre Dame, same place USC's de-committed Safety, Max Redfield is going.

And there are 3 other PAC 12 teams between USC and Oregon that could win out too. You need a lot of luck. All we really need is to take care of business in 3 games where we will be heavily favored and hope that FSU does at home in a big rivalry game.

USC plays them, or will play them all:

We play ucla a week from Saturday. Oregon State, Oregon, and Stanford are all in the PXII North, and SC is in the South, so we'd play one of them in the PXII Championship game.

All we have to do is win out, and we're in the Rose Bowl no matter what.

USC controls its own BCS destiny.
