On a tangentially related note, it seems Hawkins is stepping in at RT...is he really only 300 pounds...?

Compared to our other lineman, it seems a bit light.

Williford is 343, Alexander is 342, Washington is 334, and both Collins and Turner are around 315...

Boutte and Edinburgh are 333, Fanaika is 348, Austin is 324...

He'll gain some weight. It's early.

To be somewhat fair to those, teams didn't respect our passing game because we couldn't execute it.

I forget what coach said the other team knows what's coming but, "It's their job to stop it." Predictability isn't bad when you're unstoppable, like with Hester or other "3 yards and a cloud of dust" successes. But, it is bad when you are stoppable.

I remember Vermilion Catholic winning a state title over Kentwood with a boy named Simon. Everyone in the dome knew who was getting the ball, and they still could not stop it.

That's a whole different formula than sticking with an offense that goes quarters, a half, and games with first downs in the single digits.

Hell, didn't we go the whole first half of the SEC championship game in 2011 without a first down? that's ridiculous

Doesn't this piss you off from having to accept a shitty offense the last 5 years?

I think it was zero first downs in the first half of the SEC Championship game against UGA, and one first down in the first half of the BCS Championship game against Bama. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Great article. Very excited and I can't wait to see this offense in action.

Cameron’s offense doesn’t have to be transformational, just more effective at critical times. Two of the Tigers’ three losses last season — to Alabama and Clemson in the Chick-fil-A Bowl — came after they failed to get a first down while trying to nurse a late lead. And the offense didn’t reach the end zone in the 14-6 defeat at Florida.

I think the writer was getting ideas from my old thread.

Old saying at work: " where's confusion there's money". If you look at it from the view of the offense going against another teams defense there is some truth to that.
