He's going to be a special back at NE. I don't see the law firm staying much longer.

Two words for ya TOM BRADY. With him quarterbacking Ridley should be a beast. He is the most talented out there and there will be holes.

Ridley

I just picked up Ridley in my fantasy league off of waivers and I'm expecting more touches for him has the year progresses.

His pass catching skills out of the backfield have been impressive so far as well in the preseason.
I've said for a long time LSU's talent is among the best in the nation, for awhile now it's been them and USC as the top 2 talent wise! Guys like Ridley, K Williams, C Scott(where is he at these days), Lafell, Doucette, I can go on and on, but you get what I'm sayin.

the NFL is sprinkled with LSU talent, these guys get taken in later rounds and are steals. I said that LSU RB's stack up well against a M Ingram who won the Heismann and was taken in the first round. I said the Saints didn't need to waste a draft pick like they did to aquire Ingram, all they had to do was take Ridley in the 3rd like the Pats did and they would have gotten the same production out of Ridley that they are getting from Ingram.

Down there everybody is stacking the box — there’s eight or nine in the box.

Whew. I'm glad we rediscovered play action this season.

I think you make a very valid point here. We will see how it pans out in three to four years, but I would hate to think that Payton moved up in the draft order to pick Ingram because his glasses were fogged with the Heisman trophy. I'm hoping that he and his scouting staff saw something in Ingram that justified the move up.

LSU is a good training camp for that type of NFL runner for sure

Ask Lee and Jefferson about the comment and they'll probably both say, "That's fair - #34 carried the load for us the last couple of years."

No doubt. It's a fact that guys like Manning and Brady and Brees make it easier for RB's to get some real estate.

Everybody on here knows I hate Bama (before and after their most recent HC change) - Ingram was playing ahead of Trent Richardson and deserved to. That's saying something.

Ridley was a steal in the 3rd round. Ingram may not have been worth moving up much more than the Saints did, but he was worth a late 1st round/early 2nd round pick, easily. In fact, I think he would have been a steal 10 to 12 picks later, but the Saints got him at value.

Not to change the subject, but how can you say whether someone was a steal or too highly rated when they have only played 3-4 games? Give them 2-3 them years and base it off of their production. The pre-draft evaluations don't mean anything now, just production.
