Nice little piece on what we could have had....

Without RP, no 2007 SEC championship, hence no BCS championship. So we got our moneys worth, IMHO.

"Could have had", my *ss. We did have it. And it was, on balance, not worth having.

Yep.

Had you told me when he signed that RP would ensure 1 national championship and one 8-5 year, I would sign on in a nanosecond.

I'm glad he signed.
I'm glad he led us to glory in 07,even if it was brief.
I'm glad he left.

I am neither an RP supporter or basher--I am however, DAMN happy he was on the roster in December 2007.

It didn't matter who the qb was, with that Defense LSU had last year, they weren't winning crap.

The thing I don't get about some of these journalists, they practically begged Les to dismiss RP,(nevertheless overlooking Sanchez and his alleged Rape at USC). When Les dismisses RP they crucify Les and the team for suffering due to no proven qb and the struggles of last year.

Not a Lee basher or supporter, but you can’t compare the two situations. RP sat behind a good starter and was inserted on occasion building his experience and confidence. He was being groomed properly for the starting job this year.

JL should have been doing the same this past year and next year behind RP. No way to EVER know the answer, but who says JL doesn’t perform well if groomed into the position instead of being thrown in before that period of learning. Very few redshirt freshmen do great at QB, especially with our defense giving up so many points.

No way anyone will ever know how it may have turned out anyway.

Whatever helps ya'll sleep at night. I know we got screwed and in the back of all your tiny brains, ya'll know we did too. There is no way we would have lost all those games last year had we had him

Byrd came up big for one game, the auburn game. Take him out, we kick a field goal, and still win. RP played one game which we barely won. I would never say it was because of these two that we won the NC. I guess Dorsey, Steltz, Hester, Flynn, Highsmith, Doucet, C. Jackson, Zenon, Colt all had nothing to do with it.....

Prove it. GET OVER LAST SEASON, IT IS OVER. With the defense the way it was, who is to say we would have won ANY of the games we lost last season. How about we look forward to NEXT season with our BEASTLY recruiting class, and new coordinators?

I have just enjoyed reading the comments of Ready4something and TigerVoodo and fully agree with both. I have always backed our coaches and I just hope our recruits understand what Miles done here. Putting team and principles ahead of individuals. Who knows we may have won the national Championship with RP but Miles made the right decision in my opinion. I just hope the parents understand that this brought our team closer together and put Miles' in a bad win/lost record down but I think all things look good for the future with this years expected incoming class and remind us all to sit back and once again enjoy the moment or moments ahead.
