Arkansas? this sucks if it comes down to us and some other team for the last play off spot we may get screwed over.

Lol @ all the fools who were lobbying for a playoff

Let biased humans decided instead of computers who got it right 90% of the time.

Idiots

Although not an LSU guy, he is an SEC guy. Would you rather it be lead by someone with Big 10 or Pac 12 ties? Why are we so cynical about everything?

Long is a good guy and close with Miles, so . . .

I think this was a great outcome for the SEC and LSU.

Because it's ran by a "___ guy". There will be WAY too much bias in this thing. This isn't a field of 68 where there's little room for error in leaving someone out. The worst that happens is teams aren't the 1 or 2 seed, and are then the 2 and 3 seed, etc.

This will be a complete and utter joke.

Kind of wondered why didn't they just use the BCS Top 4 to determine the playoffs.

At least there's more transparency than a playoff selection committee.

This is going to be a pretty damn bias committee.

I don't have an issue with it being Long. In fact I'd say its a good thing.

I don't think the 4 team playoff will solve anything. 6 or 8 is needed. We will have teams like Ohio state and Louisville and Florida state who don't play anyone all year and get in over a 1 loss LSU team

At least they selected someone who's team isn't ever going to be part of the 4 team playoff. Seems unbiased to me....

IMO, this is a stop gap between a larger playoff format. The 4-team playoff was created to pacify those who don't want a large-scale playoff. But, the human selection committee will cause continued controversy. And, that will eventually lead to a 8, or even 16, team playoff. It's coming.

The 4-team playoff will only last 3 years, and then we'll see huge changes. I think prior to the 2017 season, you'll see NCAA shift to four 16-team conferences forming a new NCAA of sorts. Each conference will have 8-team divisions, with each division winner making the playoffs. They'll eventually add in wildcard teams and have it be similar to the NFL playoff system.

I would even argue BCS probably got it right over 90% of the time, if not every time.

Only time there was a question for me was Alabama vs OkSt. OkSt lost on the road - Bama at home.

The list is fine. Each P5 has an active AD on it. Condi Rice and the Lt Gen are good. Very few hacks on it like Tranghese.

Clemson AD Dan Radakovich worked here and is on it. Instrumental in TAF, Tradition and stadium renovation.

the system sucks. But, TPTB are at least getting closer to what we all want, a true playoff that matches the same # of participants proportionately, with other NCAA sports playoffs. [based on currently numbers, that would be 12- to 16-teams, unless or until they reduce the total # of teams in Div I-A/FBS.... personally, I think 6-8 participants is ideal]

If we are stuck with 4 teams (which is better than 2), then having "one of our own" as chairman can only be a good thing.

But, I know some tards are gonna tard anyway....

I think four is fine. I've never seen a year where more than 4 was necessary.
