Meathead, you are totally wrong. 99.9% of the LSU students/alumni went/ going to LSU to get a good education to improve their life style. Sports are fun but for most of us that's it just fun--will never pay the rent/mortgage, etc. from sports. To pay coaches what we pay them compared to professors, it's a disgrace. I've donated a fair amount, but I've .just about had enough.

Raise face value. We're getting skinned in TAF donations.

Least we can recoupe our losses when not being able to attend a game.

Pretty sure you completely misread my post. Last year athletics sent a $13M+ payment to academics to cover tuition payments for athletes. After that, there was a $7M+ payment made as part of an academic support program. Athletics sent an extra $3M on top of that, so $10M in non-tuition related athletic money went to the general fund.

My point was to say that athletics cutting that money to academics is short sighted because without the school, the sports cannot exist. Only one can survive without the other.

And to complain about the salary of a HC vs a professor of English is about as useful as pissing in the wind. Yeah, it's infuriating, but it's not exclusive to Baton Rouge either.

100,000 beers per game X $9 a pop (going off of Superdome prices) = $900,000 per game in beer sales.

Would be a profit of $6.3 million for this season having 7 home games. Problem solved

Assistants are already some of the highest paid already, so that won't be an issue.
