Downvote #112 checking in.

One of the most idiotic and unnecessary threads I've ever seen, and that's saying a lot.

I respectfully disagree. We got the guy we wanted.
Aranda is very well respected around the country, and highly thought of period.

It takes a lot to not get a single upvote. Good job.

You know LSU football ranks top 5 in most income generated right? U started a thread over 300k. Lol. Which we are getting from Steele. Seems like bitching.

I felt sorry for this dude so I upvoted. He may have the stupids.

You're not very good at math. Aranda gets 1.3 million (at least) over 3 years. So that's 3.9 mil, let's round up to 4.

Steele and Auburn giving a one time 500k a piece comes out to a mil. If you're still with me that's 1/4 or 25%.

In no world is 25% "a lot" of anything.

Most of this is incorrect analysis. First, Auburn and Steele are combining to pay $500,000 total.

Second, the analysis should begin with LSU was going to already pay Steele at least a million a year for two more years and likely at least that much for a third year--$3 million total. Instead, LSU will now pay Aranda $1.3 million for three years. That's $3.9 million as you noted. So LSU needs to come up with $900,000. Auburn/Steele have paid almost half of the difference. So what we're talking about is an extra $133,333 a year for three years. A drop in the bucket.

It was a pretty freaking good deal.
